I finally got my SBR to the range for the first time
I want to thank Ashby Arms for helping me out with my SBR project I was able to get to the range for the first time with it on Monday and it was a blast. The crew at Ashby Arms is a great bunch of people and they are great to work with. They helped me custom build this rifle. If you are looking for ...

Firearms Training in Northern VA
I have a friend that is looking for a firearms training course near her home. She lives in Sterling and would prefer it to be less then 1 hour away. I have been able to teach her a lot but she wants to take a formal class. The classes I know of are farther away and probably a little more in your fac...

Re: Harrisonburg gunsmithing?
I work part time at Ashby Arms and unfortunately we can not do 1911 sights right now. We do some smithing but mainly armorer type work. For the sights on that I would head out to see Ron Hudson at Hudsons Guns on Cedar st. Im glad you made it in to check us out. If we can help you out with anything ...

Re: KEL TEC pmr 30 22mag pistol
Ashby Arms had one a week or two ago and I was able to put my hands on one and was suprised by how light it was and even more suprising was that the trigger was decent probably the best Kel-tec trigger I have felt. The weapon still felt like a toy to me though overall it is probably a great gun for ...

Re: Myself and another VaGunOwnersForum asked to leave Walmart
When we told him that we were not law enforcement officers he told us we had to leave. so I concealed my pistol which I have a permit to do and I went back in the store. 2 problems here: Walmart's policy as far as I remember, is that they follow the laws of the state. They should have allowed for t...

Re: Myself and another VaGunOwnersForum asked to leave Walmart
Such an inappropriate and childish way to react. Also typical. Atypical for H-burg though! I have been told (in the course of being threatened with trespass for OC at UVA) by local police that they have also been told they cannot OC in plain clothes at the local ChiComMart. I have never had an issu...

On Friday Decemeber 24th around 0710 myslef and dontcallmeradio went to WalMart at 171 Burgess Road Harrisonburg to do some last minute christmas shopping after we got off of work. We were both legally open carrying a handgun. When we went through the entrance the door greeter called out to dontcall...

Re: When to tell the cops?
I personally tell the officers, I know I am not required to and most of the officers in my area know that I carry anyway but I still tell them. I carry open just as much if not more then I carry concealed so I will tell the officer if I am open carrying or carrying concealed and where the weapon is....

Re: do you carry extra magazines?
I carry 2 magazines the magazine in the gun and then 1 other magazine. I typically carry a Glock 19 loaded with 16 rounds of 147gr +P Federal HST and my back up magazine is loaded with 17 rounds of 147gr +P Federal HST. I carry a back up because magazines are the most common failure point on most mo...

Re: Robarms XCR
I have a Robinson Arms XCR in 5.56. My rifle has around 35,000-40,000 rounds through it since I got it Feb 2008. The rifle when I got it was a 1 MOA gun and right now I am getting about 2 MOA out of it. I do think that the rifle is a little heavy for what it is. The controls are very ergonomic, the ...
