Robarms XCR
Robarms XCR
Any other XCR owners out there on the forum. What are your evaluations of the rifle? My particular rifle has performed very well, but just curious as to other's experience.

I don't have one, but they look nice. Perhaps a "community" review at a shoot and greet is in order...

Re: Robarms XCR
I have one. During my 200 round break-in on full gas setting I experienced 1 failure to extract and 1 stovepipe. The 300 or so rounds since then on #1 gas setting I have only had 2 double-feeds (almost always mag related).
The rifle is somewhat front heavy...but no heavier than an AR with an aluminum rail on it I would say. Things I would like to see on the rifle are a winter trigger guard (I believe they are shipping new rifles with these now), an L1A1 charging handle option and a rear take-down pin.
Other than that I would say that the rifle is perfect.

I'm going to guess you never have used/held a Daniel Defense rail? Generally I would agree with you that most rails make ARs very front heavy, DD Omega rails practically weight as much as the plastic handguards/heatshields. They have a light weight version too.ThereIsNoSpoon wrote:The rifle is somewhat front heavy...but no heavier than an AR with an aluminum rail on it I would say.

Re: Robarms XCR
No, I don't have any experience with the Daniel Defense. In fact my experience is limited with AR's in general. Before the XCR, all of my experience was with deer rifles back home and the M14 from the USN. To be perfectly honest... I never thought about actually owning a firearm until I realized that my right to do so was in danger. The XCR is my first military type rifle. Other than that I also have 30-30 Model 94 and an old Remington Sportster .22.
I'll keep the Daniel Defense in mind though in case I ever buuild an AR. So for that I thank you.

Oh ya...and a dust cover too. I'd like to see a dust cover on the XCR.

I'd trade you some trigger time in exchange for trying out your XCR. I want to try a Saiga 12ga too and I have ammo. You wouldn't happen to be around NOVA?ThereIsNoSpoon wrote:No, I don't have any experience with the Daniel Defense. In fact my experience is limited with AR's in general. NOVA...oh ya. I'm around Manassas. I am willing to get all of the experience and knowledge that I can and extend the same. So if you want to trade trigger time and knowledge I am all for it. I have never fired the Saiga so I would be happy to break it in with you. Beware however that my understanding is that it likes high-power shell cuz it is gas operated.

"Nutnfancy" did a review on the Robinson XCR. It's been a while since I've seen it so I can't summarize it for you (it's 50 minutes long, but if you're new to Nutnfancy, he does cover quite a bit on it.) Hope this has some of the information you seek.

Re: Robarms XCR
I have a Robinson Arms XCR in 5.56. My rifle has around 35,000-40,000 rounds through it since I got it Feb 2008. The rifle when I got it was a 1 MOA gun and right now I am getting about 2 MOA out of it. I do think that the rifle is a little heavy for what it is. The controls are very ergonomic, the left side charging handle and bolt hold open make reloads and malfunction clearance a breeze. The newer rifles are shipping with a trigger that is much better then the orginal trigger. The newer rifles also come with the winter trigger guard.
I weighed my XCR the other month and loaded it weighed 12 pounds. That is including a Tango Down Battle Grip, Magpul BUIS, Folding stock adaptor with a Magpul CTR and riser, Eotech 512, Larue Padded Sling, Gear Sector QD Socket, Olight M30 light, Viking Tactics Light Mount, Magpul AFG 1 and 28 rounds of 55gr Hornady FPD TAP loaded in a H&K Marine Mag.
I am still very much happy with my purchase of the XCR but my next purchase is going to be a LMT MRP

I would love one of the short barreled versions, but that's a ways off. I've heard there's a recall on them due to some of them going

I've not heard of that problem with the XCR. Are you sure you're not thinking of the ACR?jrswanson1 wrote:I've heard there's a recall on them due to some of them going![]()
