Re: Sig P239

I forgot to mention that I plan to carry IWB. I guess you would probably figure that out if you look at the holster I said I was going to buy.

Re: Sig P239

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid you would say what you did. Unfortunately, I did not know to look at the slide and did not realize there was that much of a difference. I guess I will just have to wait until it arrives to know for sure. Bryanrheem, I am going to buy the High Noon Tailgate? I hav...

Sig P239

Just bought a new P239 9mm today at gun show but have to wait for fl transfer to VA. I wanted to buy a good holster for the gun while I wait for delivery but was stopped by the question if it was an SAS model or not. Visually, I do not see a difference. Can someone help? Does the serial # help? Than...

Illegal guns in Mexico

I just read this on the NRA-ILA website. I wonder why this information is not being reported in the Wash Post  More Evidence That Mexican Drug Cartel Guns Are Coming From Central America Friday, April 08, 2011 As we reported last week, evidence is mounting that many of the illegal firearms fin...

Re: silver eagle group, ashburn va

My, how things have changed at Silver Eagle. I still think it is a top notch operation but I will probably have to go somewhere else to shoot. I have walked out of the place three times in the last two months, the last time today. My wife and I showed up today around 12:30 and was told it would be a...

Re: silver eagle group, ashburn va

While Fimian would have been a better pro-gun candidate, people don't always vote on one issue. SEG is a nice place to shoot, and last time I checked, this is ostensibly a multiple-party country. +1 Mindflayer I have posted before, I may not agree with SEG owners political viewpoint but it is their...

Re: silver eagle group, ashburn va

I think SEG is top notch. I drive right past NRA on my way to SEG. The folks that work at SEG are always friendly and helpful. The RSOs will even give you a tip or two if you ask for it. The new hours are killing me though. Closed Mon. and Tues. and all next week(Thanksgiving week). Have family comi...

Re: Surprise: GM's 'electric lemon' is Car of the Year

I am greatly opposed to electric vehicles. Remember what happened to the price of corn and the corn shortage in some third world nations. Heck, Mexicans could not get enough corn to eat because the demand for ethanol caused the price to increase beyond what food some people could afford. Forget what...

Re: Fire Mission - Help shut down the Washington Post Hit Piece

Something tells me that these gun sales were not all legal. I wonder how this fits into the Bloomberg gun traffic scenarios.

Re: A slippery slope

"How many of you actually keep track of make and serial numbers of your firearms? Not saying we need the government to do it, but do any of you actually do this? " You bet I do and I keep it on the computer, on paper locked up separately from the guns, and on my cell phone. And looking at ...

Re: Reloading - Suggestions needed

There is an old wood working tip that should work for you. Get a piece of 3/4 inch piece of plywood that is large enough to mount the equipment to and that will keep it stable. You can tuck the whole assembly away somewhere when you are not using it. When you want to use it, mount it to a solid surf...

Re: Incoming gun ban advocates

If you are concerned that this will bolster the support for anti's on gun control, I think just the opposite. This is another example of someone acquiring a handgun illegally and using it to shoot sheep, I mean unarmed law abiding citizens. Guns are always going to be available for anyone who wants ...

I wasn't sure which discussion forum to put this on so if it is in the wrong post, feel free to move it as necessary. I think this is something that the NoVA area needs. Re: Dry Firing

Well, let me correct one point. Not all modern or striker fired guns can be dry fired without a snap cap. I recently took my M&P 9 into Virginia Arms to find out what was going on with my stiker. I thought the spring was broken. Rob immediately told me that the striker was broken and when he pul...

Re: Short Term Storage

Without seeing the gun it is pretty hard to tell for sure but it sounds like you are over oiling your gun. I know some guns like more oil than others but if the oil is to the point of making the foam really oily, you are probably using too much. You should be able to carry the gun in a holster witho...

This was posted on another post titled Fairfax County Special Election but I didn't think the subject line would get as much attention as the one I have used. Nothing more than a stall tactic. With only two weeks to go in the session, by the time this subcommittee gets up and running, there will not be enough time to review the bills and move them forward.

Now you know why there is such a fight in Chicago. The Illinois State Police cannot come out and recommend shooting someone who is attacking you if you are not allowed to carry a gun.
