Re: SSG Tactical in Fredericksburg

I didn't have the right push tool so I had SSG change out some sights on my 24/7 Socom. Quality work, quick turn around, reasonable price. Good stuff from SSG.

Re: Got my upper back from Sterling Arsenal!

I would suggest the Archon Mfg. Linear Compensator for a lower cost alternative to the flaming pig. It worked great on my 7.5 AR pistol and they cerakoted it FDE for a few extra bucks. Really pushes the concussion down range. Your ear drums and fellow shooters will thank you. I'd prefer if they notc...

+1 for primary arms. If you mentioned TruGlo in the post title I assume you're looking for a budget optic. If you're ok getting 80% of the optic for 20% of the price, can't beat primary arms. The vortex strikefire is a great value under $200. If you have the cash, like everyone else said, aimpoint.

Re: .50 Beowulf

Since you were building these Jacob, any suggestions on finding a barrel? I'm interested in building either the beowulf or a .458 socom, but barrels seem to be difficult to find at a reasonable price. Plenty of uppers, but I prefer to build my own.

Re: Building a AR 15 - resources

step by step instructions and some very helpful hints are posted on both of those sites (ar15.com, youtube). Everything you could want to know and some heated discussions over the most minute aspects of the build are available. The razor blade trick when installing the pivot pin detent is worth what...

Re: make your own AR receiver

reliability is what's left to prove. I don't think many gun enthusiasts are happy with a firearm that will fire most of the time, and break in two when it does inevitably fail. $10 makes it a fun range toy, but the time I would spend swapping out a lower parts kit to a new lower every ~2000 rounds t...

Re: August 1 is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day!

Since the topic has drifted, my 2¢. If allowing same-sex couples getting married is so patently offensive to those that say marriage must be sacrosanct , no matter what , then let's redefine it under federal guidelines. Make it so all unions no matter gender are civil unions, and let the churches, ...

Re: make your own AR receiver

I don't own one, but the concept is interesting. I think that someone here posted something, a while back, about printable magazines, too. There is a printable 10rd on thingiverse right now, but at less then $15 for a quality magazine it seems like a novelty. I haven't seen an AR receiver for under...

Not a huge fan of plastic lowers, but at a cost of ~$10 in ABS plastic I'd be willing to give one a chance to prove me wrong. Does someone here own a 3D printer?

Re: August 1 is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day!

Chik-fil-a can donate to any charity they like. I wouldn't choose to donate to the same charities. I'll probably spend my money elsewhere, same way I try not to support companies who are anti-gun.

Re: Building an AK47

AK build party would be fantastic. Not a huge fan of the platform, but I learned a lot from my AR build. Would be great if we had someone with the knowledge and tools willing to donate their afternoon one Saturday. Nothing like building it from a chunk of metal to complete. I've been lurking in the ...

Re: .50 Beowulf

My FFL has a Beowulf upper, it packs quite a punch compared to 5.56. Really neat round for an AR platform. If you wanted to drop .50BMG out of your AR lower, you'd need one of these - http://safetyharborfirearms.com/store/i ... ducts_id=9

Re: WTB Ruger 10/22

Made a random phone call to a dealer about a long since discontinued distributor exclusive 10/22 based on a 2 month old thread I googled. He just happened to find one, long lost in his overstock safe this past weekend. Long since forgotten, happy to sell it to me. I'm going to name her 'Serendipity'.

Yes, it is a fair comparison. If you intend for your invention to bring peace and healing, and it's used to disseminate hate and death. It is just as culpable so long as you continue to propagate it. This thread should be targeted on the Dearborn Police force rather than a community largely composed...

Re: What happens in Dearborn will not stay in Dearborn

I'd say caps85 has been very clear about his points. His pictures show us the result of a violent self-proclaimed Christian group. That any religious belief system can be used to justify hate, no matter how many people try to make it about something decent. This thread predictably spiraled into an a...

Re: FREDERICKSBURG GUN SHOW - 440 tables! June 30-July 1, 2012

I was enjoying a few adult beverages in Central Park (next to the Gun Show) last night. Power flickered a few times but never went out. Downtown was a mess, spotted power outages on the ride home. I had a DD for any concerned parties. Can't guarantee it, but I'd assume no issue with the show ...
