Goose huntin anyone?

Guys, with the summers end most farm ponds are starting to show new family groups of resident Canada geese playing around in the shallows. To hunt these birds requires decoys ,layout blinds and all the other junk needed to fool they into gun range. It is not a sport that everyone does or likes to do...

Re: Sleeping in late

See, the early bird does not always get the worm. Tell me this and I ask this because a good friend of mine, an avid bowhunter, one that has killed his share of big bucks with a bow believes it best to slip into the deer woods at daybreak, while there it is a little gray in the sky. It's been my prac...

Re: 200+ yd. Rifle Range in central Va.?????

Dobn't need all the bells and whistles, just a good safe location inwhich I can hold steady and get a bit of practice at targets out to 200 yards and maybe 250. Want to feel comfortable if I need to make a long shot. I've killed ground hogs out that far, but that was with a 22-250 and a long time ago.

200+ yd. Rifle Range in central Va.?????

In talkin to a couple guys yesterday while shooting a round of sporting clays, we were talking/wondering if there are any long range rifle ranges around central Va..open to the public. Thinking about doing a pronghorn hunt and I know I need a little practice out to 200 yards

Re: First one of the season!

Cool, planning on heading to Amelia WMA for a morning the first of the week. Glad you got your fish in..... those larger fish have a way for being the ones that get away. I see where the 100 lb blue catfish mark was broken at DG. Know it would happen sooner or later. Wonder how long it will take to ...

Re: What are ya'll in too?

Cool, nothing wrong with liking squirrel stew. Spend many a winters morning hitting the hardwoods lookin for a limit of squirrels. They are a lot of fun, especially using a dog. Being a waterfowler, I've carried a rod with a spinner bait ties on for a little mid day active as well. Some nighty good ...

Re: Speakin of WMA's

Been trying to find a couple nice farms or a small timber tract to lease and do some upland game hunting, I say that because I consider myself a "part time" upland game hunter. I will hunt pretty hard in the spring for turkeys but in the fall, I will hunt the rut for deer...with my BP....t...
