You need to add taller sights, then you'll be set.

Re: 1911 Recommendation
You cold get a stainless Colt Combat Elite or XSE for the price you listed. I acquired my two tone Combat Elite for a little over $900. Colt uses very few MIM parts, forged frames and is building excellent, some of their best in my opinion, guns right now. The finish on my Colt is outstanding. Plus ...

Re: Look what just happened to follow me home ...
Just remember to run grease on the frame rails and that Sig's like to run wet compared to your Glock.

Re: .600 Nitro Express Revolver
Good Lord, it looks fairly painful. I think 600NE ammo is up around $300 for 10 rounds now, not something I want to invest in.

Re: penalty for carrying?
You wouldn't have violated a law unless you were employed at a location that firearm's and concealed carry was not allowed by law. You would have violated company policy and would more than likely be terminated. This happened at a company I worked for a couple of years ago. Employee carried a loaded...

Re: Holster Questions
I'll agree with a couple of the other poster's, a Cross Breed Super Tuck is pretty comfortable. I carry a Government Model in one often, the benefit is that the clips to attach the rig to your belt are spaced away from the body of the holster and bulk of the gun so it makes for a slimmer package ins...

Re: open carry with copper star on belt
I would carry a Civil War saber on my gun belt before attempting to carry a CCP badge, just shows bad form to display a shield if you aren't LE.

Re: Going to try to CC my kmber warrior
1911's are easy to conceal if you have a quality holster and belt. The biggest advantage to concealing a Government Model is that it's a thin gun. Carried IWB in a CBST it will disappear under an untucked T shirt no problem. I carry my Colt Combat Elite in a Super Tuck on occasion and find it simple...

Re: SHTF and Dogs
I worked with a Vietnam Vet who used to tell good stories on occasion, One was about some time he spent on a FOB with K9 units and their handlers, the South Vietnamese people working on the base offered to share their dinner with him one night which he did. The next day a GSD was missing, they found...

Suggest a good local or state 1911 smith, Salem/Roanoke area
Hello VGOF members, I purchased a Colt XSE Combat Elite earlier this year and want to get some work done on it. Nothing major as it will be a "combat gun." I'm thinking I will have someone do a reliability check, (it's been 100% with 250 FMJ's and 50 various HP's including those finicky Sp...
