Re: Toby Keith & "No Guns" policy
Kudos Marc. My wife and I ate at the place across the street awhile back and looked forward to the opening of TK's place. I usually do not look for the gun busters sign and believe in concealed means concealed. I look forward to reading their response to your email. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] h...

Re: How Marines Feel about women in Combat
As long as the females can pack the gear and bring the fight, sure! That being said didn't the first women just get dropped from the Officer Infantry Course at Quantico not too long ago? yep, two volunteered and one didn't pass the CET and the other didn't last a week. To be fair though, lots of me...

Re: Went to the range today
It sounds like you have things figured out but here's what I do, and only with my 1911. I have a bare-bones Rock Island and with my old eyes, cannot see the sights. When I did try using them, I would hit low. What I do now with success is cover the target with the muzzle and let'er rip.

My first was a Ruger Security Six. That was about 30 years ago. I wish I still had it.

Re: Virginia Arms
My son bought a rifle from Virginia Arms. I have only bought ammo and cleaning gear but have had nothing but great cusomer service from them. One day though, I was about to buy an SP-101 and the salesman kept talking. He went on and on about everything you can imagine and some things you cannot. To ...

Re: Living in Virginia, working in DC Best place to live
I live in Montclair right off I-95 and teach high school in Fairfax County. We have one of the best school systems in the country. All but one of our 26 high schools have a graduation rate above the national average. I just moved from the Mt. Vernon area with older houses selling for 500,000 to 750,...

I rented a house in the Fort Hunt area for six years. The basement flooded often. I'm sure the new tenents are dealing with lots of water about now.

Re: Hello from Stafford
I've shot at The Range twice its not too bad. Matter of fact I was there today, wasn't too bad when it first opened. Yesterday it was PACKED! I go to The Range about twice a month. Sometimes it is crowded and other times I get right in. Wish I could find a place outdoors to take my time and just sh...

Re: Hello from Stafford
Quantico Shooting Club but i'm thinking about trying to join the Izzak Walton League down at the end of RT.610 since quantico is rather restricting on when i can shoot. What about you? I found the same situation with Quantico. Their rifle schedule is a little better. I shoot at The Range of Staffor...

Re: Springfield XDM vs Glock 19
I have an XDm and it is the best shooting pistol I've ever had my paws on. A natural pointer, great grip, high capacity, and it's a sexy looking beast. In the spirit of transparency though, I've never fired a Glock.

I live about a mile from the National Museum of the Marine Corps. It's worth a few hours drive. My son will commission into the Marine Corps there in a few weeks.
