Re: Trayvon Martin case hurts all guns owners.
If Zimmerman should not have pursued and should have just called the police. I don't think it is right to chase down someone who only seems "suspicious". Keep an eye on it if you need to. Frankly, after seeing pictures of Trayvon I can't imagine him being that intimidating, especially to a...

Re: My Review of Glock: The Rise of America's Gun

Why on earth would you have a party for a book about Glock guns in a place where it is close to impossible for people to carry them?

Re: Sons of Guns and Law Enforcement
I saw that episode of "Son's of Guns" where they pump the mark 19 and the belt fed machine gun on a police boat. There is absolutely no need for police to have that sort of firepower. If there is a incident that requires that response then I would think it would be an act of war or terrori...

No gun? Use a guitar
Check this out. Some guy took out an intruder with a guitar. I'm assuming it was a solid body. Hollow body guitars just don't have the stopping power needed for self defense  MANASSAS, Va. (AP) - A Virginia resident defended his home from a potential intruder by wielding a dangerous instrument...

Re: Getting my CHP
:welcome: Step 1 - You need some sort of training class. CHP class, hunter safety, etc. There are tons of options. However, I highly recommend taking an actual classroom based CHP instruction. A good instructor will help you learn a lot about Virginia's laws. Step 2 - Take the evidence of successful...

Re: Self Defence options other than guns
Pepper spray, batons, and even Tasers are okay. Folding tactical knives are okay, but FIXED blades cannot be concealed (they must be carried in an open fashion). Do you have any reference for not being able to carry fixed blades concealed? The only thing I've seen is in VA Code 18..2-308 (A) where ...

Re: Sons of Guns - New Season Begins Tonight
It seems like the guy knows a lot about random guns. It would be nice to see more historical and technical stuff, but then again I'm a gun guy not a reality show geek. My only criticism is that I don't want to see another double, triple, or quad something. Just build a sweet gun.

Re: Intruder Killed with Chair
I'll to consider getting me one of those chairs and a CCP (Concealed Chair Permit). The only question is whether I want the carry-ability of a pine chair or the stopping power of oak. I'll have to visit the Virginia Chair Owner's Forum.

Re: Video-Ohio LEO threatens to kill CCer
Holy crap! Who trains these guys - the Gestapo? The guy getting detained was well mannered and completely non-threatening. I couldn't imagine a worse overreaction by a cop. Well, I guess the cop could have actually shot him instead of just threatening to do. The cop will probably lose his job, but c...

I wanted to see what people would like as their favorite internet resource for gun stuff. Anything goes - legal, technical, fun, etc. There's a ton of stuff out there, but it's always fun to find something new. Also, don't be a kiss a** - VGOF doesn't count :) Mine: Hickok45 on youtube: He does fun ...

If your gonna carry concealed then keep it concealed. Also, don't ever say anything to a reporter that you don't want misused, mis-construed, and presented in a manner than makes you look as bad as possible.

Wish list: 1. Firearms allowed in any publicly accessible parking lot. (Personally, I believe that if your employer chooses to "ban" the law abiding from protecting themselves then that company should be liable for any crime committed against you on their property.) 2. Protecting from civi...

Re: Anthony Weiner Admits Posting Lewd Pictures
This is one of those great scandals that I will have enjoyed observing. I'm sure only disgruntled employees (
) and criminals can carry. As with anything the government can control the rights of the law abiding citizens are restrained by the acts of those who couldn't care less what they laws.
My suggestion: Drop you stuff in the blue box outside or send it UPS.
