Any Fairfax Rod & Gun club members?
I shot at this club for the first time last weekend for an ATA event and the club was great! I was just wondering if there were any members on here that could fill me in on exactly how one becomes a member there? (i know the site provides a little bit of info but id rather hear from someone that is ...

Re: H1N1: Will you take the swine flu shot?
i definitely will not be taking something that has been "rushed." after hearing about numerous stories on how this vaccine contains certain toxins linked to certain diseases, i think ive found the reason FEMA has had to stock up on as many as 500k temporary coffins. hopefully this doesnt b...

Re: Opinions on The Health Care Debate
id have to agree about this not saving anybody any money except for the people that would use such a system. obama said last night that this would create competition for the existing health insurance companies and premiums would go down, perhaps thats true but then you would get hit with a higher ta...

Re: virginia arms co, manassas va
cant wait to pick up my new shotgun this week from them, i said it before and ill say it again, VA ARMS is the only shop in the area that will get my money. they actually take time to answer my questions and not give me a run around.
to Bernie and the crew!

Re: silver eagle group, ashburn va
i havent been there personally so i cannot speak from that standpoint but going on just assuming what their business plan may be (aiming towards that higher end client) i just dont see it working too well for them. as it stands already there isnt too many places to shoot at around the area that i wo...

Re: O/U Shotgun Question...
thanks for all of your help! i really like the browning citori, as ive shot it many times since my local skeet range rents them out. only problem is they are at the higher end of my price range, cheapest ive found is 1400 used for a citori white lightning. ill just have to keep an open mind to all o...

Re: O/U Shotgun Question...
i found a used nikko 5000 26" barrels at a local pawn shop. from what i know this is the same as the old winchester 101, the gun looks like it was barely used but does anybody know if using 26" barrels will limit my abilities in certain clay games?

Re: O/U Shotgun Question...
sounds like good advice, a lot of people are telling me to go big or go home though and i feel like thats being a little biased? i figure see whats in my price range, see what fits best and i should be good to go? im just worried about reliability as skeet/trap guns take a pounding with as many shel...

O/U Shotgun Question...
I just started shooting a lot of clay games (trap, skeet) and my question is, is it worth it for me to purchase a low end o/u gun like a stoeger or mossberg, or should i just keep renting what i can get at the local range (browning, huglu) and wait until i can afford a nicer setup.

Re: Range 82, Midland VA
How does the range time work? IOW, do you pay when you're done? Do you know if they're planning on having any competitions there, like IDPA, etc? It sounds like the range time would be a lot more relaxed, and more enjoyable. I always feel rushed at the NRA range. not sure how range time works as i ...

Re: Looking 4 local ranges and instructor
Thanks! Looks like Gilberts is basically it. I went in there to check it out and it seemed really dark. I'll have to actually shoot there before I make up my mind I suppose. I'm not DOD so Quantico is out for me but it does look nice. The merchant review page was helpful. Thanks for that! I hadn't ...

Re: Range 82, Midland VA
A few questions/observations come to mind looking through the web site: - The yearly dues is pretty cheap, hourly fee is on par with the NRA range in Fairfax, but if no one else is waiting for your slot, I can see how the range fee will add up quickly. - Must bring your own cardboard backing or buy...

Re: Range 82, Midland VA
if they're almost in your backyard, def check them out. hopefully when the word spreads more maybe the county will notice and lift some of the restrictions they have on the place.
