I'm finally an AR owner!!

I've been wanting an AR for 10 years but never had the money. Well, I finally was able to save up for one and brought it home last night. It's a Stag Model 2. Got it off Gunbroker and had it sent to a buddy of mine who does FFL transfers on the side from his garage/shop. When I went to pick it up I ...

Re: Review of Inntermediate Pistol Class at Northern VA Tactical

Sounds good. What is the round count for the class, and how much is it for the course. I have been looking around for some quality training. Round count for this class was 500 rounds. Cost is $200. Well worth it on both counts! Highly recommend this outfit and ill be going back for their Advanced p...

Re: Ruger 10/22 barrel

Answer to the question is yes! Tactical Solutions in ID makes great 10/22 barrels. I haven't bought one myself but have several associates who have and they speak highly of them.

Re: 9mm or .40??

9mm for me. Cheaper (absent the current craziness), lighter recoil, higher capacity, and is ubiquitous worldwide.

Re: Best subcompact under $600.00

Might I suggest the Walther PPS? I have one in 9mm (also available in .40) and it conceals very comfortably under my t shirt in a Crossbreed IWB holster. Shoots well, reliable ad good ergos IMO.

Re: 22 range plinker

I'll throw in a vote for the M&P22. I've had one since March and have been very happy with it. Accurate, mostly reliable ( just don't shoot LRN rounds in it like I did--they hang up on feed ramp) and has one of the best out of box triggers of any of the popular .22s out there. Also has ambi cont...

Re: Review of Inntermediate Pistol Class at Northern VA Tactical

I had a great time taking Intermediate Pistol with the great people at Northern VA Tactical! Are they a new company? I've never heard of them before. Its always good to know another source to send people to. The course you took sounds just like our Defensive Handgun I class...some of the same topic...

Re: Review of Inntermediate Pistol Class at Northern VA Tactical

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is that I live in Arlington and don't always have access to a vehicle. I'm also more interested in defensive applications than competition personally but I may give it a try sometime. Thanks again! There are quite a few who regularly shoot this match that are ...

Re: Review of Inntermediate Pistol Class at Northern VA Tactical

You should give the monthly all steel match at Black Creek near Richmond a try. I think you would enjoy it. Second Saturday of the month: http://blackcreeksteel.wordpress.com/ Thanks for the suggestion. The problem is that I live in Arlington and don't always have access to a vehicle. I'm also more...

Review of Intermediate Pistol Class at Northern VA Tactical

I had a great time taking Intermediate Pistol with the great people at Northern VA Tactical! We worked on drawing, reloads, movement, multiple targets, and shooting from retention at close range. It was a great class, and I learned a lot. My Gen 4 G17 was 100% reliable through the 550 rounds we put ...

Experience/Reviews on Northern VA Tactical?

I've been searching for defensive firearms instruction in NOVA and this place came up in my research. Seems like a good place, and I may take one of their defensive pistol classes in the near future. Does anyone have any first hand experience in taking classes from NVT? I would appreciate any insigh...
