Re: Gun Control Response for District 1, Rob Wittman
Mr. Wittman has his act together. He is a strong conservative and a friend of gun owners. I got the same letter. I thinks it's worth posting twice... January 14, 2013 Mr. Rowland XXXXX #### XXXXXXXX Lane Newport News, VA Dear Mr. XXXXX: Thank you for contacting me in regards to your support for the ...

Don't forget, we have a critical Governor's election in 2013
While we focus on what is going on at national level in the Senate and House, let's not forget we have a critically important Governor's election coming up in Virginia in 2013. Almost certainly the Republican nominee will be Ken Cuccinelli, our current Commonwealth Attorney General. As certainly, th...

Re: Getting ready to buy an AR-platform rifle...
I have a Colt LE6920. It's a great choice. I also have a Sig Sauer M400. I have been extremely impressed with this rifle. It has been utterly reliable with several different types of ammo. It is accurate. Fit and finish are top-notch (and IMO superior to the Colt). And it comes with a lifetime warra...

Gorgeous.
Is that the same Ironwood I'm thinking of? I've held Ironwood carvings and the wood is heavy as hell. It's one wood that won't float.

"Where are the CZs?" Seems to be a popular question across the internet. High quality, reasonable cost = scarcity.

Re: New AR-332
Nice stick you have there. I have the same scope on my Sig M400. I originally mounted it on the flat top rail using the base it came with. But I didn't like it there. The scope is 3X. It's too much power to co-witness with the iron sights. And not enough power to not see the front sight. The blurred...

Re: Bought a few new guns...
I shot the P238 today. I took it, along with a CZ83 .380, to the range. The CZ83 is a big, all steel, double stack .380 that is as big as many 9mms. It's a straight blowback design. And despite the weight, it has a very snappy, and disconcerting recoil. The little P238, in contrast, is a 100 times m...

I ordered it through The Quartermaster in Newport News. He found it at one of his distributors.

Re: CZ SP-01 Phantom?
sorry for the slight hijack but I have to ask Micro how much smaller is the 75 compact grip? I have shot a 75b and really would love a p01 if the grip is not too short. Otherwise its definitly going to be a phantom. I'd say about 3/4" shorter. I have plenty of room for my hand on a 75B. The Co...

Re: CZ SP-01 Phantom?
I don't have a Phantom, but they get really, really good reviews. Like Jim, I have a CZ75B, as well as a CZ75 Compact and a CZ83. CZ makes a phenominally good gun, especially given the price.

Re: My new scope for Marlin Model 60SS
I like it a lot. It's not a rimfire scope. But it works very well in that capacity. Virtually no parallax at low power and I can focus it down to under 20 feet at low power for close shooting. I've got about a 1000 rounds through it and it stays dead on through the power range. I especially like the...

My new scope for Marlin Model 60SS
I chose a Burris Fullfield E1 2-7X 35mm. It's probably overkill, but I love Burris scopes. It's set in Burris Z-Rings on B-Square dovetail-to-weaver adapater bases. Even though the scope is a centerfire scope, parallax appears non existent at low powers and minimal at high powers (and then only at s...

Re: Glock Talk: Your thoughts?
I've owned a Glock 21SF, 30SF and 36, and all have given me some problems. The 20SF was relaible, but it did suffer from the notorious rub on th trigger bar. The 30SF was down right unreliable. It ran well early on. After about 200 rounds it developed the dreaded FAILURE TO RETURN TO BATTERY issue. ...

Re: Bluing in Newport News?
I think the gunsmiths at Bob's in Norfolk could handle that job. Or if you want to drive to Richmond, Gander Mountain has (or had) gunsmithing that could do that.
