I ordered it through The Quartermaster in Newport News. He found it at one of his distributors.

How do you like the P238? I'd really like to find someone with one that I can try out.

+1 for The Quartermaster. :thumbsup: I did a FFL transfer through them last year and they nice folks and have reasonable fees, too.

be careful, now!
start shooting a sig and you'll contract the 'signess'. there's no known cure and it can only be treated by acquiring more sigs. ;-)

I assume that's just like BRD. I built an AR last month and I just keep working on it, adding new stuff, buying ammo, magazines, etc.... I see no end in sight. Need a new something to draw my attention away from the AR.

I shot the P238 today. I took it, along with a CZ83 .380, to the range.

The CZ83 is a big, all steel, double stack .380 that is as big as many 9mms. It's a straight blowback design. And despite the weight, it has a very snappy, and disconcerting recoil.

The little P238, in contrast, is a 100 times more comfortable to shoot. The true locking nature of the action seems to take a lot out of the recoil. It's a small package. And I have big hands. But it is a comfortable gun, nonetheless. I bought a spare extended 7 round magazine with the grip extension. This makes for a much more comfy grip. I fired one box of Federal American Eagle 90gr FMJ through it with no malfunctions. Accuracy is good and the sights are excellent.

@meak99...
you've been warned... ;-)

interesting side story.
was at the range late last year and ended up next to a fellow shooting all kinds of black rifles. major envy on my part, as expected! anyway, we got to talking and he says he's only shot glock handguns. being the good guy i am, i offer up a couple mags through my sigs. after giving him a quick manual of arms: da/sa, decocker, mag release, combat sights, poa=poi, etc. he puts 3 mags through the A & B spots in the head area of an idpa target at 15yds. the look on his face was priceless! "dayum! i gotta get one of these!". he paid me back, though. he let me shoot two of his black rifles and i was just as hooked as he on sigs that day.

@micro - Thanks for the mini review. It's right on line with other things I've read about them.
