Bluing in Newport News?

If you got a good deal or great service from a shop or range and you want to brag about them, here's the place to do it. Likewise, if you are unhappy about someone's service or feel like you've been ripped off, we want to know that too!

If you are handy and don't mind a little trial and error, you can get a rebluing kit and do it yourself. I have recently done this to my sons shotgun and the results turned out better than I could have imagined. The directions come with the kit, don't skip any steps! If you follow the directions, have patience and persistence you should be able to do it yourself. I used a casey reblue kit and it took me a total of 1 hour to strip the entire barrel and reblue it. Try it, it'll cost about 20.00 for the kit, a shop will probably charge between 200.00 to 350.00 to do it. Hope this helps.

I think the gunsmiths at Bob's in Norfolk could handle that job. Or if you want to drive to Richmond, Gander Mountain has (or had) gunsmithing that could do that.

Take it to Ashland Firearms

Strip it down and take it to Ashland Firearms in Ashland VA. On Rt1. For about $40-$50 you could have it blued.

Since I found this place, I'm bluing just about anything that's not 99%
