Re: New Indoor Range in Manassas?
Hey folks its been over a year since I posted. Was killing time on the internet and just on a hunch I googled 'newest range Northern Virginia" and BINGO! Elite Shooting Sports pops up. So far, it sounds like everyone who's been there likes it. But the last post was from June. Has any one else b...

Re: Hello from the NOVA area!
Welcome to the forum.
Here's another vote for 340 Defense - it takes about an hour to drive there from Falls Church, but you can shoot just about anything you want out there and they have outdoor ranges from 15 to 400 yards.

Re: 340 Defense. What's going on there?
Steel targets are back! They are on the 100 yard range. Last time I was there they were creating more parking spaces.
I think it would be great if they could put up a roof over the tables. It got HOT out there last Saturday, but I was there around noontime...

Re: Gun Ranges in NOVA
Yes you must buy Clarke Brothers ' ammo to shoot at their range. Are you willing to drive to a lil town in West Virginia called Rippon? Hiway 340, about 25 miles northwest of Leesburg. Shoot whatever you want, and they have a 400 yard outdoor range! It's called 340 Defense. I'll be going there quite...

Re: 340 Defense. What's going on there?
Yep, pay to play - I was there today for the first time. Honestly did not know about what went on as discussed in this thread - did not even know about the place till about 4 weeks ago. I met Yvonne, who now owns and runs the place with her husband Mark. She was nice. The guy on the range, walking a...

Re: Is $250,000 a year rich?
What is wealth? My eyes were opened after I read The Millomaire Next Door. Folks can make millions a year but if they blow it all on fancy high priced stuff (the way some pro sports players and rock stars do) and then lose their income they'll be just as broke as a minimum wage earner. The truly wea...

Re: Democratic (DNC) platform on 2A
It ain't easy bein' a democrat when I see convention - goers bad mouthing all us Gun-Nuts. They claim to be the all inclusive party, but listen to the responses when they are asked who they DO NOT want to include in thier party. Daily Show with John Stewart.

Re: Looking at CZ 75 B
I had the CZ75 Compact. Awesome gun! In fact it was my EDC (Concealed) for a while. Ergonomics wise, I challenge anyone to find a pistol that fits better in the hand. It just feels good holding it. Shoots very accurately. One thing I could not get over was to carry it "Condition 1" the onl...

Re: Purchased First Gun - Mossberg 500
My son and I will be at the NRA Headquarters range tomorrow morning with our Home Defense gun. They still slug-only for shotguns? Yep, they sure are. Funny story about that - our first targets were only 20 feet away and when I saw three holes in the target after just one shot it took a minute for m...

Re: CZ pistols
I'm sorry I did it now and won't ever do it again, but I traded two pistods at a LGS to buy a Glock 29 SF. Being a "For Profit" store, they offer no more than 40 percent street value for trade ins, even though the gun may be in new condition. I traded a CZ75 compact and a S&W Model 10 ...

Re: NRA Range Questions
I was there about a month ago. Never been on a week night, but I'm told they can be just as busy as a weekend morning. Saturday and Sunday Mornings - if you are not one of the first 15 or 20 folks in line, then you'll probably have about a one hour wait. So get your name on the list, then go check o...

Try Clarke Brothers - they are just south of Warrenton on route 29 - you can shoot any gauge or load of shot you want - outdoors.

Taking Baby Steps
With the cooler weather I can wear a jacket or coat, so instead of my pocket pistol Bodyguard 380 I conceal carried my CZ75 Compact on an OWB Don Hume holster. Took the jacket off to gas up the car at the Exxon on baron Cameron road, for a road trip to Luray yesterday. In nine years I have only seen...
