Re: "instant" What a joke.
Just great having to literally get permission to buy a gun ain't it??? System could stand some fixin! I'm not gonna kid myself and suggest criminals can't and don't get guns faster on the street. However, just think if there were NO CHECKS or "permission." After robbing the corner store, ...

Re: range in Richmond.. Dominion?
Dominion. Went there once. Unfortunately I was the wrong color, I don't belong to a gang and I shoot my pistols using the Weaver stance - not sideways like the gansta's. They're expensive, exclusive to the gansta's, filthy and rude and it's also unsafe at anytime of the day or night. Odd's are you'l...

Re: "instant" What a joke.
After I calmed down and got over the frustration of a four day wait, I realized what an idiotic and dangerous proposition that would be. Why? There were no background checks until twenty years ago. The world didn't come to an end, obviously. There's no background check to buy a car or a gallon of ga...

Re: Cost for Annual Membership at Ranges in Richmond
..........now it seems everyone must also pass a background check. I'm not sure how your a "non" membership casual shooter? Anyone who owns a weapon knows that is not gonna be a 5 minute exercise. I'm sure this is gonna be a nice place. I don't think this has ever been in question. However...

Re: Colonial Shooting Academy
I knew about the safety course, but a background check, that seems excessive. Has anyone ever gone to a range where they had to pass a background check? I know Dominion Shooting Range, Smoking Gun, and Black Creek don't.[/quote] The background check mentioned in the article may be a reporting error....

I'm always delayed at least 2 days and most of the time 3-4. My dad takes about 5 minutes even on a busy gun show weekend. Re: Cost for Annual Membership at Ranges in Richmond
I'm pretty sure Colonial is going to allow you to bring your own ammo, so that should help curb some of the costs. Plus they have some other perks like quick clean service, firearm storage, FFL transfers, etc. I'd like to make a few quick points. NONE of what you mentioned is included in a standard...

Re: Henrico Police to do Presentation on "Man With a Gun" Calls
Did anyone attend this event? I know it was some time ago, but I am new here, and very interested in what the presentation consisted of. I have always had a good impression and experiences with Henrico PD, so I would expect the feed back to be positive. Thanks, Wallace This event was time well spen...

GSG 5 Accessories
I just picked up a GSG and would like to dress it up. I'm interested in a railed foregrip, hand grip and scope/mount. I'm in the Richmond area and can meet face to face.

........it seems one "small fact" has been over looked. This all took place "down under." So not to worry, your tax dollars were not at risk. I just enjoyed the shooting and wished I could tag along is all.

Speer 9mm
While the story at the end of the link shows the damage done by a Speer Gold Dot 9mm rd. It is a sad story with several lessons throughout it and should never have happened.

Re: Hero gets fired for using gun to stop robbery
As a member of the CCW community, I don't know of any employers that allow you to carry in any form. The only exception would be where you would be required as part of your "uniform." In this day and age, 99.9% of employers are going to "release" said employee that took any acti...

Re: Hero gets fired for using gun to stop robbery
Well I know one place I won't be shopping any time soon. Walgreens may be a private entity, but so am I! I can choose when and where I do my shopping and I don't have to go anywhere near walgreens. At least he is still alive--a live man can get another job, a dead one can only leave insurance to yo...

Anyone have experience or opinions on the Sig P238? I have a friend that is asking about about it as a possible summer pocket gun. You can look it up on youtube. There are lots reviews and more than a few suggest it jams somewhat often. Once is more than I care to experience if I was defending my l...
