Hello everyone,
After a lot of research and taking advice (much of it from everyone on here and I thank you) I purchased my first handgun yesterday. I have only been shooting about 1 month so I know I have a lot to learn. I purchased a Springfielld xd 9! I am taking it out for our first range day tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone that owns or has shot this gun might have some pointers or things to watch out for. I know most of that stuff I wil find out as I shoot and get used to it but any heads up or tips appreciated. Thanks again for everyone's great knowledge and advice.

You must have thought that first handgun was a lot bigger deal than I did.

Gun-crazy? Me? I'd say the gun-crazy ones are the ones that don’t HAVE one.
Just got back from the range. Ran 200 rounds through it. No jams or misfires! It was amazing. I do think I am going to have to sacrifice my nails for shooting o well. But yeah the gun shot great!! Although I think I need to rehire someone to keep reloading my mags lol. But overall great I'll have pics up soon!

Thanks for the website! I had found a speed loader made by springfield and it was more expensive. And yes I was saying that as I left the range I think I want 2-3 more it came with a 13 and a 16. I like the 16 better because of the grip extension and well more bullets of course.
And to jrswanson1 It is a compact, I liked the size a little better, fits in my purse better for a Concealed.
