Re: Random thought about "Gun Control"
Joe Biden met with religious leaders at the White House asking them to "tell their flocks that enacting gun control is the moral thing to do". Although momentum on gun control stalled in the Senate last month, Biden has insisted the issue is very much alive, and has been meeting regularly...

Re: CCW and BYOB Drinking in Restaurant
Why not? What happens when someone makes the fact you're carrying (shouldn't happen, but could) and you're drinking? Do you think a cop is going to read into the law, do some thinking on it, then decide whether to charge you under §18.2-308 (J.3.), or just go ahead and charge you? The hassel alone, ...

Also, isn't bullseye shot from 50 yards? Might want to extand out to that if you're taking your pistol out to 40 anyways.

Re: progress report on our private range project.
Forgive me if I'm misinterpreting what you're saying but.... I would keep all these pistol firing lines in one straight line and have the berms at various lengths - or make sure each firing line has significant distance in between to keep the angles sufficient from having someone at 25 yards have so...

Re: CSPAN LIVE Vote for Manchin/Toomey Amendment to S.649
Not only does Feinstein not understand the phrase "shall not be infringed", she apparently doesn't understand the phrase "the senator's time is up." Everything about her disgusts me. Voting on the AWB amendment now.

Re: Firearms patent how does it work?
Just like the 1911... every manufacturer and their brother makes one these days. Several companies still add their little touch to make it a little different, but Colt can't do a thing even if they make an exact copy of the original design whose patent is expired.

Made in Italy? Sounds like Tula contracted Fiocci or someone to make ammo in brass for them to package up.

You'd need to add a lower parts kit, buffer & spring, receiver extension and a stock to make it a full lower. Then you'd need the upper....

Re: WHERE IS THE .22LR?!
Green top had about 100 boxes of federal bulk on Monday. Limit 1 box per customer, $22.95. That was like an eternity ago, though. They also had American Eagle 100rd packs of .223 for $45.99... also limited to 1 box.
It's the only .22LR or .223 I've seen on a shelf since Christmas.

Re: Tell me about your 1911-22
I spent some time shooting and working on a friend's Chiappa 1911-22 and in my opinion, it was junk. Lots of feeding & extracting issues, the mags were really cheap, the trigger was really mushy, the slide was not smooth by any means. I'd never buy one.

Re: Brass vs Steel Cased Ammo
Yep. Cheaper to buy the steel cased stuff and replace your barrel twice than it is to buy brass cased! Unless you reload, of course. I just wish they had tried other ammo in the problematic TulAmmo Bushy to prove it was the rifle and not the ammo. The TulAmmo seemed to work okay in the other guns us...
