Random thought about "Gun Control"

Post by allingeneral »

Joe Biden met with religious leaders at the White House asking them to "tell their flocks that enacting gun control is the moral thing to do".
Although momentum on gun control stalled in the Senate last month, Biden has insisted the issue is very much alive, and has been meeting regularly with gun violence victims and law enforcement to build support for a second go at legislation to expand background checks
So, the random thought is this:

If it takes so much work to "build support" for gun control legislation - doesn't that seem to imply that no one wants it? Why not pass legislation that's easy to pass because it's what the American people want instead of forcing legislation that we don't want down our throats?

Because they can't subjugate the people without first getting rid of the 2nd amendment, I mean they can't have their plans foiled by meddling kids!

The subject of gun control in Congress is about as popular as a turd in a swimming pool. The object of the game is to delay a decision long enough as to force the other guy to take a position on guns. Then you use that guy's decision against them come election time.

None of this will matter much since it will all come down to a Executive Order any way. So buy all the guns and ammo you can now.

Oh wait, never mind.

The problem is the fact that unlike cigarettes, drunk driving, and not using a condom, owning a firearm doesn't have the same consequences.

You can own a loaded gun for YEARS, and NEVER need to shoot it!

The actions of CARRYING it are known with it's consequences. I'd like to think that NO ONE carries a gun without knowing what MAY happen.

I hate gun control, people who support gun control, knee-jerk emotional politicians, and those people who fund them.

This thing irks me, really. I mean the day they announced the failure of passing laws you could see plain as day that they looked like some butt hurt 8 yr old on a playground. Not only can they not accept defeat in the matter, they're trying to convince people in the most evil way. Forcing a "God's" good word (Obama) into scripture and sermons? How much more clear do you need that the O is not a herby Christian?

Honestly, had they waited another 2-4 years to re-bash the subject I would have been okay with it. But for them to not waste literally a minute and do this crap all over again is such a damn waste of time and taxpayer money. AMERICA already spoke and our REPRESENTATIVES voted how AMERICA feels. Kindly go choke yourself in a corner if you don't like it because its obvious no one cares about the legislation your trying to feed us.

Keep quiet while your choking too. I've heard enough of the complaints.

Here's my idea of gun control. If you have a gun you should control if not, you should get one and control it. :hysterical:

Your problem here is that you're trying to apply logic, reason, and common sense to this issue... you know better than that!

Interesting how they're trying to use the folks they ridicule as the vehicle for their agenda.

Sign at a Gun Show
A friend and his brother went to a Gun Show
at Reliant Center Saturday, Mar.23, 2013.
An all-day big show and lots of guns.
Looked like people buying mostly hand guns
and a lot were just looking.
The best sign they saw at a booth read :
"IF YOU VOTED FOR OBAMA,
WE DO NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS.
YOU'RE TOO DAMN STUPID TO HAVE A FIREARM!"

Now this is a real background check...!
