I got a Colt Combat Elite at Christmas its a great 1911of course its a real tack driver a pleasure to shoot 300 rds of various types of .45 mainly my 230 gr FMJ reloads bunch of JHP and SWC without a single jam the only complaint I had was it has a plastic mainspring housing and I just couldn't live...

45 days is the max I believe all counties are different as far as how long it might take, my county Prince William took 10 days from the day I dropped it at the clerks to the day it came in the mail I was very happy with that.

In Prince William county, you just go to the clerks office with all paperwork and certificate sign it in front of the clerk pay your $50 bucks
and it took 10 days

Thanks for the tip Art I will have to get by there someday soon its not real close by but I get out that way every once in awhile. I read that a lot about open ranges like that one where people trash it out likes its theirs shoot up any signs or fence posts or pretty much anything thats not intended...

Well first off welcome back, I don't know of any outdoor ranges within the specified 20 to 30mins except for the Fairfax Rod&Gun Club it is for members only and I believe there is a 2 yr waiting list, there is of course the indoor NRA it has 15 lanes 50yds pistols and rifles up to 30-06 they do ...
