If you don't have it by Monday, march on down to the courthouse and demand your temp. permit.

[quote="frankD"]Well, here's the dates.

FEB 11 - Dropped paperwork off at Bedford County Sheriff's Office
FEB 14 - Wife picked up paperwork from BCS Office and took to County Clerk

Every county does it "their way." In Henrico, you take your app and id to the main "city" station. They finger print and photograph you. You leave their with your app and take it to the county clerk's office with your $50.00. The police notify the clerk's office who in turn mails you the good news.

I'm on day 46 in Loudoun, although I expect it in the mail today. I called the county yesterday and they said I was approved on Feb 25th, and my permit would most likely be waiting for me in my mail when I got home (on exactly day 45).

That seems fast to me, mine took just about exactly one month.
I did it at the courthouse in Manassas on 28.
Dont know what agencies it goes through though. Maybe it went to Prince William County first, maybe not.

Mine just came in from Virginia beach yesterday. 40 days. I dropped the forms off March 11 and the CHP is dated March 22 but I didn't receive it until April 20th! It seems like there holding onto them until the last days before sending them out.
