I can only imagine the nonse that their CCW process will include. Hell, I wouldn't even want to put up with what DC owners have to put up just to possess a firearm:

Re: Newbie Reloading Equipment
One should reload to produce better ammo. If you don't enjoy reloading, don't reload. If you reload for all your cartridges, you would "pay for" the equipment much quicker. If you equate all your time to money, you would do nothing but work. If you time is worth $15/hour, then every night...

Re: Warthog back from the dead; going to war against ISIL.
If you really wanted an easy fix for the USAF, they should turn over all the A10s to the Air National Guard units, develop a external tank/waterbomber package for them so they can be used to replace the 1960s era S2 trackers/traders in fighting forest fires. Then, do an honest evaluation about the ...

Re: FBI going to 9mm pistols?
You know, 9mm bullet technology has advanced so much, even I'm thinking of going back to it as a standard carry. If the same round can be carried in a Glock 17, 19, and 26? Think about it... that's three different sized weapons that have high cap, and stopping power with low recoil. just sayin'... ...

Re: Warthog back from the dead; going to war against ISIL.
In this case the idiot Generals and Admirals, supported by manufacturers and politicians with factories in their districts are saddling all the services with less than optimal aircraft. In the meantime those same clowns are retiring current aircraft to pay for the still uncompleted designs. In this...

Maybe they're finally starting to heed their own advice:

There are way too many tactical fanboys out there spreading garbage science in regards to wounding effects.

Re: What will my next Ruger Mark be?
I have a Mk III target that I use for bullseye matches. I shot irons for a while, but the added Ultradot makes all the difference. The only complaint that I have is that it's a bit on the heavy side.

Re: Help Painting an AR
I saw a pretty good one (and cheap, too) recently:

I'm leaning towards doing one for my AR, but I need to figure out how to do it on the porch of my apartment without scaring the crap out of the neighbors across the street.

Re: Newbie Reloading Equipment
Ideally, 9mm/45acp/223 prices will stay down so I would only reload 308 and 300 blackout. I would want the ability to reload 9/45/223 just in case, but am perfectly fine buying bulk range ammo. I understand that single stage presses are not built for speed, but given the lower cost and learning cur...

DC Proposed Conceal Carry Bill
It was proposed today, complete with the mayor kicking and screaming:

Something tells me that they're not going to be too keen on granting non-resident permits either...

It also tries to perpetuate the myth that universal background checks will somehow keep criminals from getting guns, but it is a step in the right direction (especially for the NYT).

New Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in 5.56/.223
Not sure what the market is for this, especially with the $75 10 rd magazine (shopruger.com):
http://www.ruger.com/index.html
I can see the appeal of the .308 variant, but not a 5.56 when there are as many ARs around as there are (not to mention STANAG magazines).

TTAG did a nice SBR of a 10/22 takedown recently: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/08/foghorn/suppressed-sbr-1022-takedown-can/ Definitely compact, although the can might not be necessary in this case. Also, here's the obligatory ".22 vs. something" link to preempt the .22 naysayers: ...

I'd personally prefer a rollback to 1775 gun laws, but progress is progress
