DC Proposed Conceal Carry Bill

Post by 10mmSnob »

It was proposed today, complete with the mayor kicking and screaming:

Something tells me that they're not going to be too keen on granting non-resident permits either...

If they do what I expect, the law will be so strict and limiting, that there will still be a de facto ban.

I mean think about it. You can't carry on any district or federal government owned property. You can't carry on any private property without getting the owners permission.

Basically, that means you can only carry outside, but they cured that problem by saying you can't carry "near" protestors and dignitaries. That is basically everywhere outside at any given time. And to make things worse, you might be at a "street meat" truck having lunch, completely legal, and protestors or dignitaries move into the area you are in. Without doing anything, you are now violating gun laws because someone else took action, by moving into your vicinity.

Sounds like a big heaping pile of crap to me.

Not to mention the Metro where, even where I live in VA, they have a ban on carrying a firearm
