Re: Private Handgun Purchasing If I'm Under 21

Yeah a lot of it depends on the store itself. A Walmart employee once refused to give my brother .22 LR because it was on their list of, "handgun ammunition", despite this actually being for a rifle. He didn't ask what it was for, really didn't know or care when he told him it was for a ri...

Re: Private Handgun Purchasing If I'm Under 21

Two considerations not mentioned but an issue I've seen a few people deal with: 1. Practicing at a range- I've been turned down by a few for not being 21 (at the time) which as a private business is their prerogative but can make practice/training more difficult than expected. 2. Ammunition- "F...

Re: Young people can no longer fix anything

(shrugs) Some things are meant to be disposable. Some are not. I can repair basic items, and generally rig something to work, but electronic items are NOT meant to be repaired, or else they wouldn't sell more. In truth? I'm a flip-phone, Windows XP, Basic Cable kinda guy though. This exactly, not s...

Dude... for future pics... this is not a clothing optional site. Thank you for your cooperation. Also... regardless of if it's reloaded, which its not obvious in the picture that it is (sorry, can't see well), unless they sold you a box of re-manufactured ammo and said it was new, I'm not sure wher...

In my mind, at least, the "killing rattlesnakes" metaphor implies a more personal transaction than bombing with drones. But Barry doesn't want to get anyone's boots dirty. Even so a campaign of brute force in any form, IE the low road, would only serve to swell recruitment. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>...

Re: Unattributed e-mail forward worthy of reading.

I must disagree, with sentiments about the Boston Bombers in particular, to a greater degree the individuals born into and subsequently resist an occupation. Dehumanization of an enemy, even those that use questionable tactics or what we in a currently free west define as terrorism, has served to li...

I wish that weren't true, but the mindless herd is being driven closer and closer to the edge of the cliff. My goal is to put up a fence so no one can fall off the edge.
Seems like a waste of a fence.

Re: New Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in 5.56/.223

I don't really see the point of a 223/5.56 bolt gun, because an AR can do pretty much everything a bolt gun can and a lot of things a bolt gun can't do. As long as you don't abuse your equipment it will continue to work long after you have left this plane of existence. A "friend" of mine ...

Re: New Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in 5.56/.223

I see what you are saying... but at least slap an 18"-20" 1 in 9 barrel on it though. That can't affect the price more than a few dollars at worst. EDIT: Looks like they make one MVP Flex Sporter with a 20" 1:9 bbl for $1,000. A bit more than a few dollars but they still provide it. ...

Re: New Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in 5.56/.223

I don't know that I would go with the Mossberg either. It weighs as much as an M4, has the same barrel length as a non-NFA patrol rifle, and still fires a .223/5.56 round. If I was going to go with a 16" 5.56, the Sig 516 Patrol has a selector switch to turn off the auto-loading feature. The S...

Re: New Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle in 5.56/.223

Figured it might have something to do with not wanting to completely redesign the bolt to strip rounds from an AR mag, like Mossberg had to do.

How many Hispanics are in Newport news locally, relative to a year ago, or 5 years ago? I say that because the local Su-13, or most other gang, activity here has been directly proportional to Hispanic populations, basically nothing a few years ago to at least visible levels, tagging and what not. If you don't have any dogs or cats running around outside, could always poison them if you can't shoot them. Either commercial stuff or just anti-freeze inside or besides some meat.
