Re: Emily Miller report on DC Handgun Ban Nullification
The way I'm reading this, is that you may now openly or concealed carry a handgun, however I'm pretty sure it can't even be loaded...and here's why. Of the laws that were taken away by the judge dealer strictly with the carrying of the gun, he did not remove any of the existing DC laws regarding amm...

Re: I think a large portion of Hell just froze over...
There's a lot of unknowns to be carrying in dc still at this point, like informing a police officer you're carrying when coming in contact? And if you did do the all know for sure about this memo the police chief supposedly out out? Or will they just continue to arrest anyway. Also how to know which...

Re: anyone have experience transporting through MD?
Thanks for the info guys, gonna keep it locked up in the trunk with ammo separate and hope all goes well. Unfortunately theres no short way through MD for where I need to go in PA, heading to York county so its going to be 495/95/695/83. A nice long stretch of doing exactly the speed limit lol.

anyone have experience transporting through MD?
My wife and I will be taking a trip up to PA and since PA has reciprocity for our CHP I would like to carry while there. But of course, Maryland is in the way. So I was thinking of having my gun unloaded and locked up in the trunk with ammo separate, "transport mode" which is protected und...

Re: S&W M&P Shield
Put about 300 rounds through it the other day, overall I think its a great gun and was extremely accurate. My only complaint (and maybe this is just a glock thing, havent owned anything else yet) was that the trigger on this gun resets no matter what even if the slide locks back on an empty mag, so ...

Re: driving to VA from NJ route?
The problem here is that it may not be possible to follow the federal transport law and be afforded its protection without having a NJ carry permit. Hmm...I didnt know you needed a carry permit to transport firearms from state to state? I thought as long as you followed the state laws that you were...

Re: driving to VA from NJ route?
I drive between VA and NJ frequently, in my opinion your best bet is to start off in NJ with the weapon unloaded and locked with no ammo in the car, in the trunk, then make a pit stop at the closest walmart as soon as you cross in to VA to buy ammo and load up. Unless you feel like stopping in Delaw...

Re: getting a concealed carry permit????
Nope, I received mine from Fairfax (the county Falls Church is in) 3 weeks to the day from when I submitted the application, was surprised how quickly they processed it.opr1945 wrote:We have heard that the counties near Washington DC do not readily issue permits????? True??

Carrying at work?
Question about carrying and being at work, this isnt a topic that I've ever really thought of since my full time job is in DC, but I've been thinking about picking up a part time job as well over here in VA, so my question is, is it necessary to inform an employer that you carry or get permission to...

open carry question
If I was carrying concealed with an IWB holster, but then tucked the bottom of my shirt behind the grip of the gun now exposing most of the grip, would that now be considered open carry or still concealed since most of the gun is still hidden underneath the waistline of my pants? I'm not saying you should or shouldn't carry, as each individual person should carry how and when they feel comfortable, was just simply stating my view.

Re: Carry under legal BAC?
Just the way I read it.
Either way the whole situation is easily avoided by just not drinking while carrying.
