I jammed up the server
Sorry folks - I jammed up the server this evening. Hopefully should be back to normal operation now or very soon at the least.
Thanks for your patience!

Re: I jammed up the server
I am being spammed with reminders to login because I guess I haven't been here in awhile.
Apologies accepted - I understand. But please make it stop.

Re: I jammed up the server
You didn't receive more than one email, did you? If so, I apologize. The server freaked out when I sent a couple thousand emails to people who have signed up and forgotten about us. I don't think it's spam if you sign up on a forum and you get one email from us in three years. However, perhaps my internet dictionary has spam defined incorrectly.mdinnie wrote:I am being spammed with reminders to login because I guess I haven't been here in awhile.

Welcome back!

I agree with mdinnie: Eighteen messages and counting in the last 60 minutes. Same message keeps coming (Below). I noticed that there's no hyperlink in the email which allows you to opt-out of the emails. Is this something that could be changed?

Dear marcbdc, We are writing to you as we have noticed that you have not logged in to Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF for a while. Please have a look at http://vagunforum.net to have a look at our recent topics on our board. Also, be sure to check the *VGOF Event Calendar* for upcoming gun shows and local events http://vagunforum.net/viewcalendar.php And don't forget about the *VGOF Marketplace* where local firearms and ammunition are being bought, sold and traded every day! http://vagunforum.net/marketplace/ We look forward to seeing you back shortly!

UGH! 18 of them? I am sooo sorry. No wonder the server has ground to a halt!marcbdc wrote:I agree with mdinnie: Eighteen messages and counting in the last 60 minutes. I just put my dunce hat on and going to the corner. Sorry, folks.
You can opt out by going into your profile and unchecking the checkbox that says "Receive emails from administrators"

Well, on the bright side, you've welcomed us back...a bunch. We all hit the wrong button from time to time. Thanks for the quick catch and fix. I'll leave my "email from admins" off for a while to let it clear the server.allingeneral wrote: UGH! 18 of them? I am sooo sorry. No wonder the server has ground to a halt!

Re: I jammed up the server
I just deleted more than 30,000 emails from the mail queue. What a mess. No more emails left, so hopefully it will clear up shortly.
I guess that's just how bad we missed you!
Thanks for your understanding.

Alling,
That is why I logged into the forums, I got the email. When I start up google Chrome, 11 tabs open, like my facebook, email, and other forums. This website opens up, but I am not logged on, no matter how many times I click REMEMBER ME.

Chrome itself should offer to store your credentials. That always works for me.

Re: I jammed up the server
or maybe you're on AOL or other large service provider that assigns you a different "Class B" IP address each time you connect to the interwebz?
