But then I'm old, crotchety, and definitely not hi-speed lo-drag.
That is why the red dot mounts are designed to co witness with the irons.
What's the point? Is the speed still there when co witnessing?

I know, I know.... Opinions on the internet can get, well, opinionated. HA! Here's mine. I have a Sig516, it came with what "some folks" on here would call a cheap "air soft" type red dot scope on it. Just last weekend I took it out on its maiden voyage and after sighting it in was able to hit not only my targets but just for fun, a small 16oz coke can (full & unopened) at 125yrds. Dead center, one shot. No magnification on the "air soft - cheap" Sig red-dot scope. Could it be better? Sure, I'm actually saving up for a nice one. But you don't need super fancy to mow down 'dem zombies! Enjoy the new obsession.

EDIT I have back up iron sights as well, +1 the the previous poster!

Co-Witnessing allows you to use either the irons or the red dot without adjusting, deploying or removing anything else.
