well maybe so, but in that case they wouldn't be raising "their" child.

Maybe not their biological child but to many stepdads that doesn't mater it's their child.

C'mon folks...not everything that comes out of bho's pie hole is an inspiration of Satan. If you take that tact you will loose ALL credibility. Why can't we see this (useless) proclamation for what it is? A feel good bit of rhetoric that tries to tie him in with "all American Dads"?

Does it work? Who cares? This is insignificant. His laptogs are committing far more horrid atrocities on a daily basis.

Why can't you remember when Obama said to the gays, "I will not only be your friend, I will continue to be an ally and a champion and a president who fights with you and for you."

The gay marriage issue has been hotter than ever in the past year and Obama just HAPPENS to include two "dads" in his Father's Day speech. I'm seeing this speech for exactly what it is. I mean can you honestly believe that his two "dads" comment had NOTHING to do with seeking the support of the gay community? Spare me...

He's probably seeking the support of the gay rights community because he's lost it. They've been rather displeased with their erstwhile savior.

Re-reading the "proclamation" and seeing the news this morning I too believe it was a reference to the gay community. News this AM is that he has ordered extension of family leave to gay partners. If for no other reason I have issue with this since traditional SOs arent covered by any of the benefits thrown to the gays.. Case in point...Young and lived together for about 18 months before we were married...we were comitted and living together but no special treatment for that...my sense tells me that obama could give a flip one way or the other about gay partners...the issue for him is simply votes...so he coddles them...similar to illegals. Why take the moral or legal high ground when you can ensure your continued existance as the ruling elite. That way you can craft your own high ground.

Bingo, throw em a bone, literally to make em shut up and toss a few votes in his direction , Barnie Frank and his pals are doing a butt naked macarena in the aisles of the Capitol in excitement..We are going to see more of this scenario as November nears;; Politicians in power want to stay there , especially this current group of nation destroyers and they will cater to any group that may deliver the votes they need to remain in control. It seems very convenient that Oboinko has decided to sue Arizona rather than enforce the federal immigration laws, obviously he could care less what kind of crap comes here or gets to stay here as long as it gets him and clowns like Pelosi,Schumer, Reid ,etc: votes to stick around and continue tearing the country to bits with their lack of vision nad anti American agenda.

You see this as a gay rights issue, that's fine, I think you're off base. If it IS a gay rights issue, then so what? I know too many gay guys and lesbian women IN UNIFORM that have served this Country admirably. I also think if folks had any clue the offices held by gays (and I am not talking about clowns like Frank) their heads would explode.

DK - I see your point. As far as Federal benefits go, let's level the playing field. Don't mollycoddle one group whilst leaving an equivalent group out to dry.

And this is where you reveal that you've been completely brainwashed by the PC society that wants everyone to think there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. They've pounded the message into your head enough times through various ways that you now find yourself repeating the mantra. When in reality, homosexuality is nothing less than immoral and perverted.

Eh, no. Go back & read. My thoughts on this issue are gained from personal experience, not dogma or mantra by someone else telling me what is right & not right. I would love to debate this further but you have shown yourself as a closeminded type on this matter. If Sgt. Bill has another SnG, you should wander on over.

Hardly closeminded. I've just had more personal experience than you. I attended a University where one out of every three guys was a homo. (Not to mention, one of my cousins is a homo.) After four years of that, I have no problem calling ALL of them immoral and perverted.

As a Christian and God fearing man I too believe God sees homosexuality as an abomonation, however, as Chritians we are no longer bound by The Law. We are bound by 2 not so simple commandments and faith. Why do I say not so simple. Recall one of the many discourses between Jesus and his disciples...all the law rests on 2 commandments...love the Lord your God with all your heart and love your neighbor.

Recall that Jesus hung around the sinners - the sick need a doctor. I do not think that God wants us to condone immoral behavior but neither do I think he wants us to shun them and push them away...love your neighbor...love God...

I strongly feel that as a Christian it is our obligation to show the immoral there is a better way...demonstrate the glory of God rather than beating them over the head with a Bible.

The 2 commandments Jesus spoke are a real problem for me...why...simply trying to figure out how do I apply those - especially love my neighbor - in everyday life. If you give it some real thought its not an easy thing to do...

As a side note IMO the Law was perhaps easier since it spelled out precisely what one could do and could not do...the 2 new commandments are much harder as they put you in a place to examine situations and try to discern what you should do to fufill them...up close and personal. The bottom line is they make you get in front of God...

DK, you're making way too much sense for some folks. That's against government regulations, you know. :hysterical:

I don't happen to share the Christian religious beliefs. And personally, I don't believe that anybody is any "better" or "worse" for being either straight or gay. I just don't give a damn either way, because that person's not hurting me, so why get all worked up about it?

Hey Cowboy, the point I'm trying to make is practice what you preach. Some of us know Biblical law and are more than willing to beat others with it but we forget the Gospel and how it applies to daily life. Those of us professing to be Christians either are or arent. Now that does not make sense...

Are you kidding? The rise of the homosexual lifestyle everywherer in the world has had a direct and negative effect on every society that has embraced it, even if the embrace was tentative or subtle. The United States is embracing this type of abhorrant behavior, along with others, that will end our nation in the exact same fashion that ended the Roman Empire. We are living in a nation not under God anymore, though we once were. We will see the total destruction of the United States our fore fathers planned and strived for BECAUSE we have betrayed their values not only in the political spectrum, but more importantly in the moral spectrum. When we began to tolerate alternative lifestyles, free love, adultery and divorce, abortions gays and lesbians and the removal of christian teachings in general society we began our fall as a nation. You may not agree, and thats fine, but I dare you to prove me wrong. You may even try to say its coincidental that beginning around the time of the sexual revolutions of the sixties and the acceptance of homosexuals not only in society but LEADERS of our country, is exactly the same period of time America started to decline . Of course homosexuals are not the only ill that is destroying our nation, but it's one of the major ones, like the Romans, we are living in our arrogance in a society where anything, and everything goes! same sex marriages? families of two female or male lovers raising children? a political class (even named Senators after the romans) who are greedy cut-throats and ruthless masters of the people. We "tolerate" satanic churches and Islamic centers under the "freedom of religion " clause, yet do not tolerate the mere mention of the God of Christianity in PUBLIC? and we have the nerve to ask why are we being taken over by foreigners? READ Deuteronomy! Its in there! Two Thousand years ago it was written for the world to read. We deserve what we are getting and where we are headed.

To answer your question of "what's wrong with it? How's that hurting you?" I say this, if you own a Bible, read the book of Deuteronomy. Its not that terribly long. I think you will find the answer to that one along with many revelations as to why this country is facing all the problems we are facing at this exact time.
For instance, one of the curses to disobedience(of Gods law) is spelled out in Duet 28:43....."The alien who is among you shall rise above you higher and higher, but you will go down lower and lower.....

that could be taken from EVERY newspaper in this country, THIS MORNING!
