You appear to be painting with a pretty broad brush and making some assumptions that may be less than valid. Perhaps you would be kind enough to list a few more of those societal resources my four kids are burdening. Education is moot, for two reasons:
First, my kids are home schooled,
Second, and more important is the premise that public education is an investment for which there will one day be a return. Any "burden" is a result of inefficiency in the educational system, not the number students being educated.
Now i'm gonna get out the broad brush and submit that the same can be said for most, if not all, of the services provided by "society" since we are, after all, really talking about Government. Society, as it were, ceded most of its social responsibilities to government long ago.
