This is where IMO state laws encompass on federal laws. Our 2A rights are pretty clear and our "state" requires us to pay for concealed carry which is a privilege. It's a shame in my opinion but thats what it is, just like driving a vehicle, that is a privilege but you have to pay to get a drivers license. I am not sure but I think we have only 2 or 3 states that have no laws on carrying openly or concealed. It's a crying shame IMO but I chose to get my CHP years ago and to be honest, I am glad I did just so I am protected from criminal prosecution when the "crazies" may see I am printing.

State make it a privilege, but in doing so, they are violating our federally protected rights. They get away with it because no one who cares enough has the money to fight it in court.

IIRC, Alaska, Arizona and Vermont don't require permits to CC.

@Marc : When I said that the 2A makes no prescription as to the acceptable way to go about bearing arms, I was pointing out that, by default, it is left up to us to decide how we each go about bearing our arms. You have the exact same understanding of the 2A that I do; I think we were saying the same thing from different directions, lol.

@Roverhound: Marc answered your question to me. Simply put, the legal systems are wrong, and, as Marc said, they are violating Federally protected, God given rights.

Vermont may require no permit for CC, but I think that they require the permit for OC.

H... you are correct. We are saying the same thing. Far be it for me to pass up the beautiful segue way to be philosophically vocal about our rights. LOL

It wasn't directed toward you. I was expounding upon the foundation you laid, speaking to others who don't feel as we do.
