I've Been Away

Haven't been around much. Heart trouble and two surgeries later, still kicking though. I'll try to be around more, but no promises since I spend more free time at a place with no internet.

Re: Swatting open carriers

Happened in Farmville last year, and a lady tried swatting me in Windsor. Well, at least 'reporting' me as dangerous. My wife overheard what was going down,a nd when PD looked me over, one turner to her and said 'It looks like he has a S&W Ma'am. Don't worry about it, it"s a good gun."

Re: That Awkward Moment

My brother-in-law is a roofer - Paul Davis at Phoenix Roofing. Shop over on Carolina near RIR. You can see the bridge on Laburnum over the RR tracks from his lot. Got to come up through a pretty rough neighborhood to get there. There's this little park, completely fenced, sign inside says, "No...

Kennesaw, Ga. is on that list. I wonder if citizens there might be armed and ready?

Man, tuff area. Not good to say the least. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] http://vagunforum.net/images/mobile.png Not really, In the 90's, I found a body a week as a rule. Now, nada. And most of the thugs cross the street and pass me by nowadays. Harry, just down the street took out 9 thugs so far...

Re: That Awkward Moment

Brookland Park, ChurchHill, Jackson Ward, etc are some of my AO. Once, at Essex VIllage, a punk drew and approached two LEOs from behind during an arrest wife and I assisted with. He stepped out of a crowd of about 150. I drew and hollered "Police!" which stopped him. He looked at my muzzl...

Re: That Awkward Moment

Blackwell is where my shop is. Rent is low. Blackwell is also home of the Newtown Gang, MS13, Hillside Gang, Porter Street Gang, etc. Owner two doors down was shot with a shotgun after giving the money. Next door, they stabbed him, chopped him with a hatchet, and cut his head off. A very busy area. ...

That Awkward Moment

I've had to draw my weapon, or grasp it and let 'them' know I was drawing many, many times in Blackwell, and elsewhere in Va. Once, after some incident at my shop, a few cops and I were outside when shots were fired about a block away. WIthout thinking, I drew as I shifted behind the 'C' pillar of o...

Re: What do you want for Christmas this year?

I feel sorry for you folks that went through cancer and chemo. Wife is now 6 years free, but 23 surgeries later, it's been rough. Thanks for the kind words, but not sure how things will go. A second Cardio Cath has raised my odds to 40% or so. Doc told wife she may want a replacement lined up and wa...

I believe I got there going behind Providence Forge. 155 to 614 to 615 turns to 627, to 621. It's below the dam, and not terribly far from 5. Pg 49 of the Va. Gazetteer Map Book. We were just wanerig around and found it a few months ago. There are some restrictions during hunting season, I think. I ...

I just drop a new motor, and even tranny in mine every 10 years or so. The '00 S-10 has about 8K mile on it.
The '95 Ford has about the same.
The 3 year 100K warranty restarts with each change too.

My SIL plans on runngn for Dinwiddie Sheriff. I told him to ask for an invite so you can meet him. He'll probably arrive with a bunch of jack-booted thugs and disarm everybody! :machinegun: Your SIL may possibly be welcome....BUT I will need a little more info on the " bunch of jack-booted thu...
