Headed to Virginia
Headed to Virginia
Hello we got orders to report to Ft. Eustis this coming January. Were coming from a 3 year assignment in Alaska, no offense to VA but I don't wana leave! So now it starts all over again, apply for a new carry permit, learn the laws, And try figure out where to hunt. Man doing this every three years is getting old! Heck of a price to pay for serving Uncle Sam! Anyways any general info about the Eustis hunting situation would be much help. Thanks

Ft. Eustis isn't too bad a place to be; it's kind of tucked in between Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Newport News. I know a large number of folks that were stationed in the area, that came back once they were out of the Military.
If you are a history buff, you'll enjoy the close proximity to Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement, and Historic Yorktown. This is where our Nation began.
Ft. Eustis is also close to Virginia Beach, if you're into summer fun. Oh, and if you leave the base and turn left on 143, almost immediately on your right is Newport News Park. They've got camping, and canoe and paddle boat rentals.
Hunting isn't my thing; I have friends in the area that have been looking for a place to hunt for a while, with no luck. It appears to be one of those "who you know" things.
Welcome to the area.

Sunday is a day of rest and worship, as is written in the Book of Genesis. Hunting is work, thus, none of that on Sunday.

This year is the first year that hunting is allowed on Sundays. You can now hunt on sundays.
