Re: State's police chiefs seek veto of guns-in-bars bill

I moved here from CO, where CCW in bars is legal as long as the carrier does not drink. It works just fine. If the VA state police want counter-evidence to their assertion that CCW in bars is a recipe for disaster, all they have to do is look at states where it is already legal to find out that ther...

Re: FFL QUESTION

It's funny how dealers and gun buyers revile the ATF and the GCA '68, and then the dealers turn around and make up their own rules that go beyond what the law requires. A dealer who only accpets guns from other dealers is making his own rules, believing erroneously that he is covering himslef to a g...

Do you who OC choose a holster with any level of retention? Any concern that some goofball will try and take your gun?

Re: VGOF Picnic "A Good Time Was Had By ALL"

Sorry I missed it. I was at the NVGC open house event. I submitted my application for membership and then shot a few rounds. Good to hear, Chris. Do you have any pictures from the open house? I'll see you around NVGC, I'm sure. No pics. I didn't take the camera. I was expecting a busy event, but th...

Re: Shooting On Public Lands

Back to the topic of the thread, I am inclined to do some research on shooting in the national forest. I am having a hard time reconciling the absolute unrestricted freedom I had in CO with the rules I'm hearing about here in VA. No doubt you all have a better understanding of it since I'm new here,...

Re: Shooting On Public Lands

But why doesn't that hold true here in VA? The state has stricter rules in the federal national forest?

I can see my FN SPR isn't going to get a chance to breathe here.

Re: From Colorado to Fredericksburg

Yeah, I had to bail on Colorado after living there for 24 years because the work just ran out. It's a boom-and-bust place and I've seen many cycles of that. I am now doing program management for a small defense contractor in Fredericksburg.

Re: Shooting On Public Lands

Hi All,

I just moved here from Colorado, where I could shoot anywhere in the national forest, no questions asked. You have national forest in VA, right? And you can't shoot there freely? Help me understand this.

All I have with me is one small criminal abatement tool. My best sticks are not here yet. Can we do pistols at 200 yards?

Re: 200+ yd. Rifle Range in central Va.?????

What about shooting in the national forest? I just moved here from Colorado, and I shot in the forest at any distance I wanted. I'm worried by the thought that I'll shoot no farther than 100 yards in VA.

From Colorado to Fredericksburg

Hi All. I registered here a short time ago but I'm only now getting around to posting. I moved from Colorado to Fredericksburg at the beginning of June. My family will follow later. In the meantime, I am ready, willing, and able to hang out with all you fine VA gun owners. All my rifles are still at...
