Been a while since I was supposed to get stationed here and ended up not. Well, now I am actually here in VA. Glad to see this board is still up and kicking!

Re: Hollow Points for Personal Defense
FMJ (or ball) ammo will most often than not OVER penetrate or just go straight through and not expand, thus failing to do the one thing you want; expending as much kinetic energy into the target as possible so that it is stopped. A hollowpoint that penetrates and opens properly will leave all of its...

Re: Buyer's Remorse?
One thing that was pointed out is that BG380 will fire when the trigger is pulled. If there is a FTF, just pull the trigger again and the hammer drops again without ejecting a shell. How does this help? If it FTF the first time, do you think it will fire on the second try? Yes, this does happen. I'...

Just a question, but other than "just because", why do you have a laser on a shotgun? The light I can understand.

Best of luck to you on the move. There are many good things like the Kennedy Center and other cultural events that can't be beat there. But, any form of shooting (including bow) inside 15 miles I think is iffy. Even bow shooting in your backyard. I hate to say that, but, you need to be prepared. Yo...

Re: Home Protection Guns
Open or Conceal Carry is either a Glock 22 (40SW) or Glock 20 (10mm). These are the guns I shoot best and feel comfortable with both on the pistol course and for carry. I use a serpa retention holster. Home defense shotgun: Benelli M1-Super 90 tactical with some upgrades. I may randomly carry my Col...

An article that was posted here and has gotten some following both on forums and in the local newspaper here in Hawaii by a good buddy and fellow 2a supporter (and Submariner) Derek Scammon. A decent read.

Re: Viriginia is really a gun hating state - here's why
I think this was decided in SCOTUS case law that states cannot prohibit gun ranges for training and proficiency, but they are not obligated to provide them. The case escapes me, but it was fallout from Heller vs Mcdonald. Since I will never live in Chicago, I don't really care. Pissed off? Open a ra...

Sheriffs are elected....that gives them alot more latitude to speak their minds. Appointed police chiefs are tools of whoever appointed them . HOLY CRAP! Do you have this statement 100% correct. Take a look at where I currently reside (for 6 more godforsaken months). The Top Cop here is actually pr...

Re: 'New" Safety Bullet - not a snap cap
Seems like a band-aid for irresponsible or lazy gun owners. Don't want kids messing with your guns, lock them up. There are plenty of quick access pistol vaults out there, some with biometrics for fast access. I trust my daughter, shes a shooter too, but I do not trust other children that may come o...

Re: Buyer's Remorse?
my advise, ditch the .380 and get a subcompact Glock. I carry my G22 or my G20, OC or CC with at least two spare mags. I sometimes carry my Colt Commander, but have always gone back to the Glock for simplistic purposes alone, and 15 rounds of 10mm awesomeness is nothing to scoff at. Bottom line is r...

Re: Occupy Wall Street kitchen staff protesting fixing food
Mass civil disturbance? Everything's already falling in place for it. It'll happen soon enough. That's why investing in gold may be a good idea, but one should really diversify one's precious metals portfolio to include a significant percentage of lead. (Disclaimer: I am not a financial advisor!) :...
