Re: Looking for a RTBVA Instructor Workshop

Once in a great while, you can catch the online instructor course, which is what I took. But you have to be quick, because it fills up really fast.

Re: Proactive Shooters' April 2013 Training Schedule

I've signed up for the April 24th class.

If anyone from NoVA is also signed up for it, maybe we could carpool down. Drop me a line.

Re: Guided hunt as way to learn?

I've been on two deer hunting trips so far - a friend had access to private land, and takes me along, because he knows I want to learn. Before we went, I explained that I wanted to learn EVERYTHING - including the field dressing part. Unfortunately, I haven't had a clean shot at one yet - maybe next...

Re: Other than the NRA HQ, I heard that

Blue Ridge is OK, as indoor ranges go. When I'm taking new shooters (aside from class groups), I try to make the trip first thing in the morning on a weekday. There have been times when my guest and I were the only people on the range, having arrived at 9:30am on a Tuesday. Unfortunately, for my cla...

Re: 10 Mar 2013 - Introduction To Handguns

You didn't miss it - I forgot to post it.

The class fee is $125 per student. That includes everything except ammunition (which can be bought in advance if you know what you want to shoot, or can be bought at the range).

Re: 10 Mar 2013 - Introduction To Handguns

Do you know if there are age restrictions? Would consider bringing our 16yo. As long as the parent/legal guardian is also a student, a minor can attend the course. My age minimum is 10 years old. My wife recently took Riana's (Judy) class and had a great time. Riana gave her a lot of respect and lo...

Re: 27 Jan 2013 - Introduction To Handguns

Blue Ridge doesn't call it First Step Pistol, they call it Intro To Handgun on their website and it's $125 ammo included. Not sure if any of this would help qualify for a CWP though. Perhaps the NRA route would be better in the long run??? You could call them and ask if their Intro to Handgun inclu...

Re: 27 Jan 2013 - Introduction To Handguns

How do you register? My wife wants to go and probably one or two of her friends would like to go. I don't see anything on the F3 web site. I'm guessing you buy the ammunition at Blue Ridge. What's the round about cost for what's needed? Your wife (and her friends) can register for the course throug...

I probably could pay some amount at Blue Ridge to rent the classroom, but since they do their own training business, I'm not sure they let outside instructors do courses there.

Re: Used 22 LR revolver for CC

Looking to purchase a used 22 LR revolver for CC. Something along the lines of a S&W model 43C or Taurus model 94B2UL. Back to the original post... If it's for your wife, make sure she can handle the trigger pull on a revolver. I have a Taurus 94 (4" barrel), and the trigger on it is so he...
