I know most of you folks have gotten the basic training, but feel free to pass this along to your family/friends/neighbors/co-workers who are interested.
I will be conducting an Introduction To Handguns course at my new location in Reston on Sunday, March 10th, starting at 10am. After the classroom session, the range session will be held at Blue Ridge Arsenal.
-------------------
Have you ever wanted to know how to safely handle and shoot a firearm? Now's your chance. Learn the basics in a relaxed atmosphere in this NRA First Steps course.
Learn how to safely handle both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, including loading, unloading, jam-clearing and basic maintenance of a firearm, as well as ammunition basics and shooting fundamentals. Successful completion of this course satisfies the training requirement to obtain a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit.
Owning a handgun is not required to enroll, but students are welcome to bring their own firearm (unloaded and cased).
Course includes student reference materials, range fees, eye/ear protection and use of a firearm (if desired) for the range session. Students will need to bring/purchase one box of ammunition for their chosen caliber gun.

Do you know if there are age restrictions? Would consider bringing our 16yo.

My wife recently took Riana's (Judy) class and had a great time. Riana gave her a lot of respect and love for guns. Thanks Riana!

As long as the parent/legal guardian is also a student, a minor can attend the course. My age minimum is 10 years old.PhantomPhixer wrote:Do you know if there are age restrictions? Would consider bringing our 16yo.
I'm happy she had a good time, Purdune. Even if you have to share ammo now.Purdune wrote:My wife recently took Riana's (Judy) class and had a great time. Riana gave her a lot of respect and love for guns. Thanks Riana!

Did I miss the pricing information? I see the link goes to a sign-up form, but it didn't list the cost.

You didn't miss it - I forgot to post it.
The class fee is $125 per student. That includes everything except ammunition (which can be bought in advance if you know what you want to shoot, or can be bought at the range).
