Re: 8mm Kurtz build

So, How goes the Build? 8mm Kurtz is an Odd one, with the STG44 being the one gun that comes to mind that fired it. A Couple of thoughts: Why not just go 7.62x39mm? -- It's easily available both in the AR 'Platform' and from an Ammo standpoint, it's also slightly more powerful than the 8mm, All the ...

Re: Ruger AR 556

How you liking that AR556?

I was thinking of grabbing one, Green Top had them for $700 (Little Pricey) but if I find one at the right price, I'd get it. I've heard pretty good things about them so far.

Re: 308 ... Ruger Savage Mosberg ?

FWIW I have a Ruger American in .308, Nice Rifle, Accurate far more so than I'm capable of. (2) things I don't like is Spare Magazines cost like $30 for a hunk of cheap plastic and I hate the modern trend of No iron sights, But those are just my own personal pet peeves.

Re: Found a K98 but no numbers match

Nice find. My understanding is NOT too many Match, If it's a Russian Capture, Definately not. If it's an Allied Capture, More than likely not, If it's a Vet Bring back, Maybe so, But still highly doubtful, That's just what I've taken away from years of research etc...I have 3 K98's and Nothing Match...

Re: Springfield XD-S Pistol Recall

Whelp, Waiting for the inital Rush to be over was a waste, Sent mine in at the beginning of November, Still waiting. Got an Email yesterday that said there's a backlog on parts to fix them, So expect to wait longer. I would have thought that by now, Springfield would have gotten it together, Afteral...

Re: Springfield XD-S Pistol Recall

I wonder if I should wait a Few Months for the Rush to settle down?

My understanding is it can supposedly fire when releasing the Slide and also Fire Multiple times, I say Supposedly because there has not been any Reported incidents. SA is just being Pro-Active I guess.

Re: New To My Collection

Looks like a S&W Model 10 with a 6 inch barrel, Not sure how rare they are, I know the 4 inchers are a dime a dozen so to speak, the Pencil barrel was pretty standard up until around the 80's when the Bull Barrel became the thing to have. You should check out the S&W forum, they should be ab...

Re: Glock Model 26 9mm Sub-compact Questions

Sorry, Didn't have time to read through all the posts today, But my 0.02 cents worth. What Generation G26 is it? -- Believe it or not, the Original G17 (1st Gen) mags were Designed to NOT drop free, Apparently somebody was concerned about Soldiers losing Magazines in the Field. However with that sai...

Re: Yugo M70 AB2 in stock at Classic Firearms

"Do not confuse these with these with the AB2T - These are the true AB2 with the heavy reinforced receiver " So are they trying to say they have the 1.5mm thick receivers, or just the 1mm they switched too awhile back? I'm with RWBlue, Twice what I paid for mine, But it is one Hellva AK - ...

Re: Ruger American

I thought of buying one, I just can't get into the current mindset of no Iron sights on a Rifle. If Ruger made that an Option I'd have bought one in .308 already, They seem to be well made and well thought out for the price range, I just perfer BUIS on Any Rifle. With that said, When it comes to Gla...

Re: Anyone have a Saiga AK conversion

I bought a Saiga 12 and converted it myself, Very easy to do and up to doing it, I had never taken an AK apart, All told from start to finish it took me 3 hours and that was not knowing what I was doing, So if you have a basic knowledge of mechanics and can use simple tools, I'd say do it yourself, ...

Re: .45 ?

I just upgraded from a 9mm CCW to a .45 - I went with the XDs Springfield, it gives 5 plus 1 capacity and as I don't plan on getting into a prolonged gun fight, that's enough for me, While NO one handgun caliber has ever been proven to be the end all cartridge, the .45 has been proven over years of ...

Thanks Donut, Not sure where you live, But You're always Welcome to bring it by and shoot at my 100 yard range. I have the Identical .308 Garand I bought back in the 80's, - Sadly I haven't put nearly as many rounds thru mine as you have. Look forward to your update.

Re: Ruger seems to have a new 380

Jake, I agree, An LC9 was my EDC, I just upgraded to an XDs - But you are right, in fact I'd go on to say it's the worst trigger out there, It is even worse than the gun they copied it from, The Kel-Tec PF9 - But with that said, I guess you can get use to anything and a few times out at the range ma...
