Re: Rem 700 question
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f117/catfssh/0610091812.jpg this is what I shoot. Its a remington 700 .30-06 in SPS. I'm still learning how to shoot it properly and only using remington core lokt 165 grain ammo but from 100 yards I can usually shoot a 2'' group somewhat easily. Have you got the b...

Yes his videos are great. I've seen a few now, he uses some good metaphors to show what our government is turning into.
If history repeats itself, the US is in for some weird times. And by weird I mean terrible.

Re: Oklahoma Pharmacy Shooting
I would have done the same thing. I've seen too many stories on the news of someone getting shot once and living. I don't know how people can criticize the man for what he did, his life was in danger and he defended himself to the fullest of his abilities. There should be no "the robber didn't ...

Re: What are ya'll in too?
I'm lucky enough to have 30+ acres of PRIME deer hunting land very close to where I go to college in Radford. It's pretty fun to wake up early and still hunt with some buddies before classes start for the day. If we're lucky it puts some free meat in the freezer, can't beat that when you're a colleg...

Re: Tactical (Home Defense) Shotgun Selection
I plan on gettin an 18.5'' barrel for my maverick 88 soon and possibly a tube extender. Should make for great home defense. I've been talking to a guy today who wants to buy a new 18.5" barrel for his Mossberg 500. He asked if the one I have in stock will fit it. I believe the one I have is fo...

I'd love to be able to carry on Radford University campus. I always keep a 12 gauge by my bedroom door though, there was recently a shooting and multiple break ins.

Re: Favorite Shotgun
Can't go wrong with alot of the shotguns already mentioned. I'm partial to the mossberg 500 just for the aftermarket support. And my maverick 88 is essentially the same gun. Throw an 18'' barrel on it for home defense, change chokes for bird/deer/etc. So far my 88 has done me well, no jams and cheap...

Re: What .223's do you use in your rifle?
For target shooting I usually get Remington FMJ, they never jam and are fairly accurate.
As far as my experience goes, I steer away from steel cased rounds. They tend to have some sort of polymer coating that sometimes melts when they're chambered and has caused alot of jamming on me.

Ha they're right down the road from my apartment, never knew there was a weapons manufacturer in the Armory Plant.
I've heard pretty good things about that company, looks like it'd be worth checking out.

Re: A Couple of My .45's
The Kimber's are match grade pistols, so you'll have to put 500+ rounds of 230 gr FMJ ammo through it to break it in. Don't even think of calling Kimber about a problem until you've done that first. As far as fun and accuracy goes, all you need to do is fire one. You'll find out just how good they ...

ha that's all we need right now.
Has anyone tried hunting the radford armory wma?
I go to Radford University so it's ~10 minutes away from my apartment. I've heard some monster bucks get taken in it, but there's also a decent sized waiting list.

Re: A Couple of My .45's
That's good to hear. So far the kimber ultra carry 2 is what I'm really leaning towards for my first handgun in a few months. The only things I'm kinda concerned about it are I've heard the break-in period takes forever and ends up being ~$250 of rounds, and it's going to see a decent amount of rang...

Re: Anyone hunt the WMA's?
I didn't see the Cavalier WMA listed on the quota hunt page, and I don't think it's technically part of the Dismal Swamp Wildlife Refuge so it might be an area open to all hunters.
Hunting feral hogs would be so fun though, they're insane.

Re: Anyone hunt the WMA's?
Hey catfssh, I've been to the great dismal swamp, not hunting just looking around, what do you have to do to hunt that area. Do you need a permit or can you just show up there. What is the 757 I never heard of it. I don't dove hunt, I'm just thinking about bear, can you use a rifle or is it shotgun...
