Freedom to Serve (HR367)

Introduced and cosponsored by a couple of dems; big surprise there.... Freedom to Serve Without Fear Act of 2011 - Amends the federal criminal code to prohibit any person from knowingly carrying a firearm in, or within 250 feet of an entrance to or exit from, a building or structure, or at, or withi...

Re: Stopping power

If you haven't already seen it, this guy has done a lot of testing and posts the videos of his results. It started with seeing what calibers will go through an interior wall and has now grown to a pretty big site...

Workplace Discussions

Had a great discussion at work today that started with "silencers are legal?" That then turned into a large pro-guns/pro-self defense discussion and the vulnerabilities of not being able to carry when you go grab a chili dog at Ben't Chili Bowl. :tommygun:

Re: Stopping power

This is the ONLY gun forum that didnt have a thread like this descend into "9MM IS GAY YOU NEED .50 TO KILL PPLZ AT 80 YARDS!11!111 THATS WHY I DUAL WIELD THE DEAGLES!11!!"
Excellent Observation; though it would be cool to dual wield desert eagles.

Re: HR 822 National Reciprocity Bill

I agree we shouldn't have to ask for permission but we are where we are so we gotta take whatever we can at this point. I read somewhere that the bill already had close to 250 supporters in the house and some of those are dems. I think we could pull it off in the senate but it's going to be close.

I used the same site when I moved up from Texas and I just made sure the guns was locked in the back when I was in "unfriendly" territory.

Re: Stopping power

Without the kinetic energy, no one is going to get stopped. Unless they just get scared and run away without any shots being fired (which is always a possibility).

Re: Stopping power

That's an interesting study; funny that the 22 and 44 mag had similar stats. I remember back when I took physics I studied a formula that would determine stopping power. Here's the formula that will determine the stopping power (foot pounds) of every gun and bullet you own. Stopping Power = (bullet ...

Re: 9/11 Where Were You? What Did You Do?

I was stationed in Germany; one my guys came into my office to tell me the first building was hit and my initial response was that it was a terrorist strike. All the news websites were bogged down so I wandered off to another office to see the TV. We were in Threatcon Delta by the time the second to...

NYC: 67 shot during Labor Day weekend

Apparently NYC's gun laws aren't doing any good (no surprise there)...

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/La ... 68118.html
at least 67 people were shot between 12 a.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Monday
