advantage arms vs tac sol
Anyone familiar with the advantage arms .22 kit for glocks? I wanted to get one and have the barrel threaded until I discovered the tactical solutions .22 kit that I can buy with a barrel already threaded. Problem is they just don't seem able to get them on the market. They are made of steel instead...

Soooo pretty,
I'm confused though, how can someone own so many berettas and have no silencer? Life is too short to need both your kidneys.

Not work dirty, sloppy dirty, and that just worried me. Sometimes can be an indication of poor quality work.Virginia2AM wrote:Was it "dirty" as if he is working?

Thanks ORK, I'll count you as +2 votes.

Antique & Modern Firearms & Repair
Anyone ever had any work done by Bob at Antique & Modern Firearms & Repair? He seems like a good guy, but man his shop was dirty. I need a barrel cut, threaded, and blued and would rather stay local if I can.

Pretty sure you can check your weapon at security and they will give it back to you when you disembark.

Re: Handgun scope question
It is an out of production burris 3x. I had assumed it was completely fixed power since all it says is 3x and has no markings for anything else but sitting it at rest and adjusting the bell it looks like it actually goes from about 1.5x to 3x. Just guessing because I do not know how to measure it. I...

Handgun scope question
On a fixed power pistol scope what is the purpose of the large amount of adjustment on the ocular bell? The scope is 3x with parallax set at 50 yards I think. The bell adjusts about an inch and has a locking ring where the magnification adjustment would be. Does it do anything?

Re: 922r compliance
Good information all around as usual from vgof. Guess I'm just using this thread as a way to settle my itchy buyin finger. I suppose what I should do is save my pennies and get myself a good AR-9mm... eventually. By then I might not even want one anymore. Seems like a lot of $$ for what is really ju...

Re: 922r compliance
Thanks diomed, good man. I've no feds picking through my garbage yet I just like to keep my ducks in a row. I guess since you didn't mention it you don't see any problem with my part count. If I can get a gunsmiths opinion on my part count that should make me bulletproof-ish.

922r compliance
Alright folks I know someone here has got to have some experience with 922r compliance crap. Here's the deal. Im itching pretty bad for a cx4 storm carbine in 9mm and having the barrel threaded for a suppressor. BUT, since its an imported SPORTING firearm to thread the barrel it has to be 922r compl...

Re: Whoa Nellie!! 3.5 Connector and Extended Slide Lock for G17
I saw a video on youtube where police were arresting a perp, they had him on the ground, officer on his back handcuffing him while about three cops were holding guns on him and the female cops glock discharged missing his head by about an inch. They all looked around like sh*t I hope nobody saw that...

Re: Dryfire Glock 17 - OK without snapcaps?
Its always safer to use snapcaps. That being said I never use them. The square part of the striker around the pin will hit the inside face of the slide, but I have never heard of any broken strikers or anything else. Always point in a safe direction even if you "know" its unloaded.

Re: 17 HMR Ammo Failure
I have a marlin 17hmr bolt action and had the same problem with split case necks using CCI TNT ammo. I would not buy the TNT, not because of the case necks but because they are very fragile. If your not paying close attention you could load up a crushed or deformed bullet easily. Never had a problem...

Re: Hurricane Season 2010
Since Im new to Virginia I have to ask how often does a hurricane make landfall here? I have lived in Florida most of my life and have been through Andrew, Opal, and Ivan, as well as taken refugees from Katrina. To tell the truth the fishing is great in the eye of a hurricane. Opal was at least.

Re: Red Dot Sights?
It is just that they are over complicated. Many people use them and all of them quit at some point. It would be really bad if it quit when you really needed it. Although there is a new very expensive model by trijicon that uses tritium and fiber optics that should be very reliable & tough.

Re: Red Dot Sights?
Using a red dot on a carry weapon for self defense is a bit of a liability. It is never going to be 100%. But if thats what you want no prob. I have a burris fastfire dovetail mounted on my Glock 10mm longslide and is a joy to shoot. The only problem with it is the on/off switch. It and the Doctor s...

Re: From 3 of our worst
I did not know that. I have either been misinformed or Florida gun laws prohibit private sales of handguns. I asked someone a long time ago and have been living with the impression the only way to sell a handgun was through an ffl. Good to know.
