Re: Kel Tec Sub-2000 in da news

BluemontGlock: Thanks for taking the time to put forth your point of view. Admittedly, I overgeneralized because I'm (not afraid but) more than a little pissed off at the chain of events. Your right, the Watchlist would be a very poor choice of lists to prevent people from purchasing weapons legally...

Kel Tec Sub-2000 in da news

So... about the NY Times Square bomber... Looks like the NY Times has zeroed in on the pistol the "would be" bomber was carrying. It's a big, black, scary lookin Sub 2K, in the 9mm flavor. http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/20100505/pl_mcclatchy/3496723_1 The article was very interesting, a...

Re: EMP could leave '9 out of 10 Americans dead'

The title had me startled a bit. I thought you were talking about my Springfield Armory Enhanced Micro-Pistol (EMP) leaving 9 out of 10 Americans dead. I thought I had finally bought the ultimate pistol!! :pistol:

Re: Who is the real criminal?

I think this is an urban legend. There are several recorded locations where this happened: Savannah, Georgia Asheville, North Carolina Las Vegas, Nevada Dallas, Texas Austin, Texas Knoxville (likely Tennessee, but state unspecified) Georgetown (state unspecified) Glasgow, Scotland (Glasgow Central S...

Re: Smokers (and others) Unite...

I've never smoked cigarettes, though when I was a teenager, I did try for a few days, of course, that was the early 1980's. As a kid, I chewed a little tobacco because my grandfather and uncles did, but that didn't go anywhere either. Fast forward to my mid 40's... The past few years - a couple of b...

Re: Morels Anyone...

I use to find them and eat them when i lived in the mountains of WV. Haven't had a Morel in many years. That's a pretty good patch!

How do you eat them? I usually sauteed in butter and mixed with eggs.

Re: Legality of laser sights

IANAL...but I have never heard that it was illegal. As a matter of fact, I recently did a refresher course for my CCW permit a few weeks ago, and the instructor, who is also affiliated with the NRA and is a certified instructor in VA and UT, stated that he would always have a laser on his pistol, an...

Re: US military jury clears SEAL in Iraq abuse case

Hate to join the chorus... but the Navy SEALS were not carrying out a police action, and were not exercising arrest powers. The terrorist came back in good condition with a fat lip. I bet he didn't go down without swinging. AS a person who served in the AF as a security specialist, and currently ser...

Re: VA-ALERT: YES!!!! Gun in UNLOCKED compartment passes!!!

Regardless of how the "damage" from the recent spat of passed gun laws are perceived by us, it's really driving the "antis" completely nuts. I was just talking to a friend of mine in MD who hangs out on the Huffington Post to terrorize liberals. She was just telling me that the H...

Re: VA-ALERT: Gun shows under attack by Bloomberg!

I've sent my responses to Warner and Webb also this AM. I've done that before, and received a response from Warner some time ago. It would be a real bummer to have to take your gun to a State Police Barracks in order to register, do a background check on the buyer, then have the transaction approved...

Re: Where do I buy a good Gun Safe in Northern VA?

Just to give some good food for thought - I'd love to have a high end gun safe, but just don't have the extra cash or space right now. About 2 years ago I bought a Stack-On 55" 14 gun (with shelf) safe, with a proper combination lock and 6 locking bars at Dick's Sporting Goods. The safe I have ...

Re: ok this is weird......

The mind is designed to "see" and recognize faces, even in abstract features that have no relation to faces. A famous example is the so-called "head/face" taken by space exploring craft of the surface of Mars. Many papers carried the photo of what looked to be a human face in a l...

:welcome: to the forum  You might look into joining the VCDL. Interestingly enough, a few nights ago, I followed a link to the VCDL's VA-Alert system and now get those alerts... as well as a few friends I sent the link too. I do appreciate the easy to read style of the alerts, and a bit more ...

Greetings from Loudoun Co.

Figured before I start posting, I'd give a shout out to everyone from here first. Found my way to this forum from other forums while doing some research, several weeks ago, and have been popping on and off ever since. I haven't joined many forums because it is a "gun specific" or activity ...
