A frame Remington 30-06
I am wondering why this bullet does not have a boat tail version since it is designed with long range shots in mind. And why not an Accutip as well.... The balistic coefficient is .377 or so... whereas it is more like .448 for and accutip boat tail round.. Why not lessen the drop at 300+ yards for t...

Re: bushnell dx arc range finder
Yes.. an important input to accurately calculating the MOA is the distance the scopes line of sight is above the barrel (where the bullet starts from). Not accounting for this will result in an error in calculating the amount of drop or rise of the bullet at every range. I was wondering if the range...

Re: bushnell dx arc range finder
This is the rangefinder I ordered. It calculates MOA correction for drop based on ballistics/other information stored in the device:

All good points. I wonder if they would special order ammo or would accept a fee for those that need to use their own ammo?

Re: Clark Bros feedback?
I've shot clays there a few times and pistols once. I enjoyed it and felt safe there. I noticed a small family with kids shooting pistols there last time and it reminded me of why a range must be run safely. As others have said, I think their prices are reasonable since they do not charge a range fe...

Re: Mix Ammo Load
So, If I am upstairs, do I have to jump out a window and risk harming myself severely before I shoot someone in my house coming upstairs or already up there with me? If it is dark, I would not know for sure if the guy is armed? Can one assume it since the guy is in your house? If I'm downstairs, I w...

Re: Remington 1100 Barrels
I was thinking about 4 ounces. I noted that a 28"Remington 1100 trap gun weighed about that more than a 26" version on a web site I found. The gun already has lighter than expected recoil for a 12 ga. So maybe now it will have so little that shooting a double would be much easier... One br...

Re: Remington 1100 Barrels
Can anyone tell me if the weight difference between a 28" and a 26" barrel (Ventilated Rib & Rem Choke) for a 12 ga. Remington 1100 is enough to be a factor in picking one of them over the other. I just had a 28" version deliverd and I am surprized to see that the once light weigh...

Upland Shotgun Fitting
I am curious if anyone near Washington DC can assist me in fitting a shotgun. I have not bought it yet, but I am thinking of getting an over/under or sidebyside upland gun in 16 or 20 gauge. Would like to make sure it fits me, whatever I get.

Re: Remington 1100 Barrels
Thanks for the input, I was afraid of that...maybe there is a 12 ga trap/skeet barrel I could put on it. I'll look to see.
Have a nice day,

Remington 1100 Barrels
Good day to you all  I own a Remington 1100 12 ga Full choke shotgun purchased around 1970. I an curious if I can put a Remington 1100 20 ga. LT-20 barrel on it or not? I'm interested in using the gun for trap and skeet shooting so I would like to lighten it up some, shorten the barrel, and be...

Re: Sgt. Bill's Meet & Greet & Shoot for 2010 - SIGN UP LIST
Hey Bill, I'll be bringing Jane with me :friends: to your shootin fest the weekend of June 5th. We'll arrive sometime the Friday afternoon/evening before and will just need a flat place to park the jeep and put up my tent. So I need to change my input as follows: Mike Vance (MikeVictor), Jane...

In case I didn't mention it, I'll be sleeping in my jeep, so I just need a place to park it where others are camping out.

Re: I'm very disturbed.....
And that reminds me, if it had not been for an S&W 38 my father in law had in his house, he would not have been able to keep an armed thrief hiding under he and his wifes bed where he was until the police arrived. And had he come out from under the bed with the knife he had, I may very well have...

Re: I'm very disturbed.....
I would not know if someone who breaks into my house has a knife or gun if it isn't obvious. To engage in defense via fists and thereby allowing the invader to get close enough to pull a knife on me and stab me is not reasonable. If someone has the nerve to break into a house not knowing how well ar...

Re: This is not the way to treat your citizens VA!
I spent some time at Briery Creek Lake last weekend fishing and drove home to Alexadria, VA on Sunday via 95 north. I saw about 5 cars pulled over by police on the way up and I saw 2 or more police cars on the side of the road. I have never seen that much going on before.
