We are moving this month, God and Weather permitting.
We are both felling like kids again. I have the spots for the orchard and garden picked out, and have a general idea of where I am going
to put the "shooting range". The house needs a LOT of work - and I love renovation work.

Moving
I am taking the wife moving to higher ground. Well, at least a bit higher ground. Moving south. I wish we could move back to my hometown in Pulaski County, but, we want to be near my wife's parents. How do I know it's time to move? - many recent used car dealers in town have "Credit" somew...

Re: Pet Peeve
I never knew there was such a variety - I know I ate enough of them as a kid, but never bothered to ask what kind they were. I wish I would have had the interest to ask!

Re: Pet Peeve
Well, my favorite green beans -
Straight from the vine to the stove, steamed, then buttered, nice and al dente.
Either that or cooked low with side meat until they are dark/dark green.

Re: Pet Peeve
Are you required to eat it? Unfortunately yes. At least a spoonful, lest you be questioned later on why you didn't eat some. In many ways, it's like a Jennings pistol. They think it's great, but you know the truth. Why cant they see it? Have they ever tried the real thing? If they had, they certain...

Pet Peeve
Sorry in advance if I offend anyone, but this needs to be addressed. Green bean Casserole. Gets my goat when people dump a can of beans and a can of mushroom soup in a pan, then heat it up and call it Green Bean Casserole. I hate going to the sister-in-law, and the brother-in-laws house over the hol...

Re: Savage A17
Update -
I called Savage, and they are sending me a UPS label to return to factory for warranty service. Reading up, I found that people with A17 problems were satisfied after Savage tuned them up.
Still, should not have so many issues out of the box.

Savage A17
Well, I have owned several Savage Rifles, and still do. I guess it was inevitable that I buy one that should be melted down for a paperweight. I picked up an A17 (Semi-Auto .17 HMR) because I read a couple of reviews that said Savage had cracked the .17 HMR semi-auto code. Sucker! I wish I had taken...

Re: Virginia's top industry
Interesting also that Va was the only state out of all that listed food, beverage, and tobacco. and: "Real estate is by far the largest industry in the country and the largest contributor to the economy in most states. But since housing is a universal need irrespective of geography, it fails to...

Virginia's top industry
Interesting (if true) data about the largest industries in every state.
Virginia's Largest industry: Food and beverage and tobacco products manufacturing.
Who'd a thunk it?

Re: Android GPS/Tracking app?
Tried a couple over the weekend. What a pain in the pud. Between service dropouts, GPS dropouts, and hitting phone buttons and touching the screen by accident, I had enough. They would be good if I ever got lost on the way home from work, but beyond that - hard to beat purpose built, dedicated units.

Just sent to Home Depot.
Not that it will matter more than a mouse fart in a typhoon, but I did it anyway. "Not that it matters, or not that the collective "you" at Home Depot would even understand, buI am going to complain anyway - it makes me feel better. I just visited my local store (8552); the in store a...

Android GPS/Tracking app?
What do you use for a GPS android app? What I need specifically - an app that stores multiple waypoints The ability to enter in lat/long coordinates and have the app guide me to said coordinates Maps Would be nice to mark locations on a map. Geared toward outdoors/hiking would be a big plus. tia
