Re: 1911 Recommendation
Consider the .45 before you get the 9mm. I just think it just fits the 1911 platform so well. When I decided to get one a few months ago, I set a budget of $500. That's very cheap for a 1911 and knew I was going to have a hard time finding one. It came down to a new RIA or a used Springfield GI for ...

Re: Virginia background checks for gun sales challenged
I think it should be the other way around Keep the Virginia Background check and do away with the Federal one. This is a Stae issue and the states should be the ones that do the check. I do agree that one of them should go and IMHO I think that the Federal should be the one to hit the door. Just my...

I celebrated and bought my first one two weeks ago. A nice, slightly used Springfield Armory Mil-Spec.
It was love at first sight picture.

Re: Top Gun Indoor Shooting Range - Harrisonburg, Va
I've gone a few times and have always had a good experience there. It's a good alternative in the winter when there's bad weather and I can't drive to the range up Hite Hollow Road. I don't mind a grumpy old man at the counter, quite frankly I don't expect a great customer service experience at a pl...

Re: Webb Not Seeking Reelection
I called Webb's office yesterday and told them good riddance. Another traitor to the union who felt that party loyalty and voting for Obamacare was more important than representing the commonwealth. And after voting against repeal of HCR he also decides not to seek reelection. I encourage all who re...

Re: Why isn't the "mark all posts as read button" working?
I am running IE8. "Mark as read" works for all other forums and boards I am on except this one.
Clearly it is something on my PC and not with the site though which was the purpose of my OP> Thanks for trying to help.

I finally got myself a Mini 14 today! Bought off an individual and got all you see here for 625! Only a blizzard can keep me from going shooting this weekend.

Re: Who's going to see the new TRON movie?
My 12 y/o son and I saw it the week before Christmas.
I guess I'm a techno-geek. Saw the original when in college and loved it.
The new one is awesome. My first full feature in 3D and I was blown away.
The great thing is that clearly all women in the digital world are total babes!

Re: My first handgun: XDm 9mm 3.8
Great looking set up you have there. From what I know about them, a good choice for a first gun. Since you are relatively new to guns, please make sure that safety is your first priority. As you ingrain good safe shooting and handling habits, your overall gun experience will be much more enjoyable. ...

He's a tool.
I call his office every couple of weeks or so and "thank" him for being a traitor by voting for h/c reform. I can't wait to vote against him when he is up for reelection.

Re: public ranges around charlottesville?
I have some friends who belong to Rivana and I've been there with them; nice place and certainly very reasonably priced. There is also a public range in the Jefferson National Forest in Augusta County near Augusta Springs up a dirt road called Hite Hollow Road. Rifel and pistol range with cover and ...

Re: Interesting article - Do gun rights protect against tyranny?
The sole purpose of the 2ND A is to give citizens the means to protect themselves from the tyranny of the government.
Ruby Ridge and Waco are just two examples of that tyranny.
