Who's going to see the new TRON movie?

Post by OakRidgeStars »

In spite of the lukewarm reviews, I'll probably go check it out this weekend. The original seemed pretty cool back in 1982, but then so did Knight Rider

Nope. I hate theaters. Even if the movie itself is good the theater experience always leaves me with a bad attitude.
I can wait until it hits blu-ray.

I just want to know if they will have the Arcade Game set up in the lobby area! Man I loved playing that game.

Yep, that was a great game. In the Tower stage, you actually had time to shoot all the blocks and get the extra--what was it--1,000 points? And the tank stage, if you knew the trick, was the easiest stage of all. But my favorite was the spiders (nice, gentle soft music).

TRON rocks and will always rock, just for its ultra-geeky theme. There was even an OpenBSD release that paid homage to it.

Just saw it. I thought it was good and worth seeing in the theater, but I'm a geek so...

Went Christmas to a Imax 3D version. Not a bad movie, good actions scenes, good sound track, lots of plot holes but my daughter thought from a plot perspective it was better than the original movie. It has been so long since I have seen the original I couldn't say myself.

I doubt I see it. The family doesn't seem interested so I guess I'll wait for Blu-Ray. I can't imagination anything touching Inception for my top movie this year.

Yes, it was all those things, but IMHO it is the geeky philosophical underpinnings which make it a cult following and worth seeing.

My 12 y/o son and I saw it the week before Christmas.

I guess I'm a techno-geek. Saw the original when in college and loved it.

The new one is awesome. My first full feature in 3D and I was blown away.

The great thing is that clearly all women in the digital world are total babes!

Is it a continuation...Part 2...of the first one? Do you have to find/watch the original again to understand it?

Its not the movie. I've just got this thing about supporting Hollywood. I realize there are a few decent actors that support our way of life but they are a scant minority. Far too many use their public pulpit and fame to openly support socialism and I aint gonna help them directly or indirectly do that.

Howdy, Y'all,

I love the original, but I'm patient. I'll see it when it hits the $5.00 bin at Wal-Mart.

Regards,

George
