Re: Remington's Model 700 chickens are coming home to roost
HI guys, Been awhile since I posted. I have one of those M700s in .308 and just sent in the info to Remington to have it returned for inspection. I found it to be a totally reliable, safe rifle in the two short years I've owned it. I have fired about 700 rounds through it messing with various loads ...

Re: Garand or AR?
Both firearms are fine choices. If like me you watched every WWII movie and were lucky enough to have fired an MI sniper equipped rifle in the military you will want to get the Garand. Nothing like steel and wood and for more zombie killing fun using either the 16" bayonet or 10" one. All ...

Re: Fort Belvoir
I hunted Belvoir and Quantico in the mid 90s when I worked at Arlington Hall Station. I did better gun hunting at Quantico since I was a bowhunting newbie at Belvoir. Believe I could have made a "Dorf Does Bowhunting" video making all the usual beginner mistakes. Fondly remember hanging on...

Re: Magnum vs Standard Primers???
I did this using Federal large pistol magnum primers for .45 loads when there were no standard primers to be found. Without a chronograph there was no way to accurately tell what was going on except for “felt recoil and blast”. Using the magnums definitely raised pressures based on the effects of fi...

Re: Life Altering Decision
Nice write up MuShu. I wish you the best in your endeavors. I agree with Allingeneral in completing your education. Perhaps you would consider the college option plan where you join the military in your senior year, complete college and gain a commission after going to officer school? In the militar...

Re: Ladies firearm question for men and women
Best of luck finding something for the wife to shoot. Like most of us you may have to go through a few before finding the "one" gun she likes. If you make it to Richmond try Dominion Shooting Range by the old Cloverleaf Mall. They have a selection of firearms for rent and a frendly staff. ...

CMMG Bargin Bin Rifles
CMMG is offering their Bargin Bin rifles again. These are 16" Ar type rifles with varying uppers and lowers. I bought one of these a couple years ago and have been satisfied with its operation and accuracy. Sorry I don't know how to do a link as I'm PC challenged. The website is http://www.cmmg...

Re: An American Tradition: Growing up With Guns
Great story. It brought back a few memories in the field with my dad. We haven't hunted together for the past few years due to his health. He recently suprised me by handing me the Model 12 Winchester he had since before I was born. I used this shotgun to kill my first deer when I was a snot nosed k...

Re: How to get a C&R License
Asides from buying C&R or FFL 03 firearms and getting them delivered to your doorstep. I understand some C&R holders get discounts for gun parts and accessories from vendors such as Brownells. I haven't taken advantage of this since I don't build or do gunsmith work. A thought to keep in min...

Kaine said he didn't believe in the death penalty but vowed to uphold the law as it currently is. At any rate the execution is long overdue and Kaine has 108 days left before he leaves office none too soon.

Re: Urgent: Vast, Right-Wing Conspiracy Focused on Obama
I spent a few weeks in Little Rock a while back (96). On the local news was a piece about sexual misconduct between a male teacher and female student at a nearby elementary school. While the principal was speaking you could see behind him on the school wall the words "Alma Mata of William Jeffe...
