heres one worth trying to explain to the people. A man went to jail for defending his home. Apparently its better to be a victim than to fight back.

sounds to me like the car was on a public road when the people inside were shot. I believe the police thought the man should have fled to his house before defending with the rifle. He apparantly had to go to the house to get the 22.
