The Taxman cometh...

Post by programmatore »

...and it is a good thing! My tax stamp for the SBR finally came in!

Here's my Dakota Tactical D54P-N with different stock/forearm options. Image

I am flying out to London for a week tomorrow but I plan on taking her out to the range before my flight! ;)

In case some of you are tracking statuses, I mailed the Form 1 on April 8 and it was received the next day. The check was cashed on April 11. It went pending on May 9 and was approved May 18.

I filed the Form 4 for my MKE 94K SBR around the same time so hopefully i can pick that up from the dealer on my way to the range. Fingers crossed...

Awesome! My personal fav is the last one. But I don't know if you could get a good cheek weld with it.

Yeah, the A3 collapsible stock and Surefire combo is my favorite too -- it just looks bad ass!

I bought the A2 OD green stock set just to have (it was only $85 for the set). I didn't think I would use it since I just love the looks of the collapsible stock. However, it is a bit lighter than the collapsible stock and a lot lighter the the collapsible stock + Surefire! In fact, I might run with the OD green stock set when I take the 2-day defensive rifle course in July.

Really the collapsible is more heavy? Were are you taking the course?

Sorry for the late reply. I just got back from London yesterday.

Yes, the all-metal A3 collapsible stock is heavier than the polymer A2 fixed stock. The A2 stock gives you a much more comfortable cheek weld too. The A3 stock is for looks, the A2 stock is for shooting!

I am planning on taking the defensive rifle course offered by Sig Sauer Academy. The course itself will be out off Range 82 in Midland, VA. I've taken a course with them before -- nice course material and the instructor is former LAPD SWAT and FBI instructor.

Oh, by the way, the morning I was supposed to fly out to London I got a call from the dealer telling me that my tax stamp for the MP5K-PDW came in. Luckily my bags were already packed from the night before so I had time to pick up the weapon then head to the range before going to the airport.

I did have a bit of a scare at the airport though. I was going through security and the TSA swabbed my hands and ran the swab through a chemical/explosives detector. I was worried the gun powder residue from shooting at the range would set it off! Luckily it didn't! Whew!

Haha more fine TSA work.
