A new range in Woodbridge in the works?

Post by Taggure »

Just got this in in the new VCDL newsletter and this could be good news; well for me at least. If this happens it will give me some place closer to home.

19. A new range in Woodbridge in the works?
**************************************************

You may recall a few years ago someone was going to build a new range in Woodbridge, but it didn't happen because of the principal's untimely death.

Looks like there may be another attempt to open a range there:

I hope this comes about. I was quite disappointed when that last range fell through.

Looks like they are looking for a lot of money to get this thing going from the way the site reads.

Keeping my fingers crossed. I'd love to have a range that is finally closer to my home.

If I had a quarter million bucks laying around :hysterical: , I'd definitely get on this.

I hope it comes through -and I hope they offer IDPA matches. Seems as though SEG and BRA have given up, and just when I get interested and wish to start taking part.

Don't give up hope on SEG and BRA yet Widefat. I called both of them last month and asked them what the story was on the IDPA not being held.

SEG said that the new management coming is has put some things on hold and that it should be back up and running in April or May.

BRA said that they had stopped IDPA while they remodeled and now that it is finished it should pick back up for April.

So check SEG's site for the listing and CALL BRA!! I CAPITALIZED that part cause I'm hoping that if we get enough people calling that they will get the ball rolling again. I've been out of IDPA for about a year now and I'm feeling the need to get back in.

Hey Bill. I have been off for a while. I stop in from time to time and see what the gang is up to here.

Now its more like lurking. My new thing is the 50 cal Hawkins I picked up not to long ago at a gun show. Not very easy to find places to shoot Black powder up here in occupied northern VA.

This is exciting news.

What ever happened to the proposed outdoor range down near Possum Point a few years ago?

It's better to have one or two guns and be extremely proficient with them, than to have hundreds which you can barely shoot.

I havent heard about one in woodbridge but i went to a new range in summerduck saturday. Its called american defensive ,they have a website at www.americandefensive.com It was pretty cool they allowed me to draw from my holster and shoot from any position. Its a 30 yard outdoor range, and the staff was very polite and knowledgable. They offer alot of different shoots and also offer classes. I cant wait to sign up for some.
