Took the kids to shoot in Amelia today....

Post by davasmith »

Well we loaded up bright and early this morning and headed out to Amelia to go shooting. My daughter actually went and shot very well as I'd expect. My son Kaleb shot everything we brought out there today. He finally got to shoot his .410 shotgun that I renewed. The shooting was great, the weather was beautiful, the smell of gunpowder permiated the air around us and the cracks of the firearms sent chills down the spine. God I love shooting!
And the best part for me was getting to see my daughter out on the firing range with me again! :pistol: :tommygun:

Were ya'll shooting at the state range in Chula ? If you were I'm glad to see they finally started allowing handgun shooting there. Next time think about driving another 45 minutes to my place and the kids can shoot cans, jugs whatever. Makes a day of shooting more fun for the kids than just paper.

No actually we were shooting at my daughter's finace's land in Amelia. We shot plastic jugs, homemade ballistic gelatin I made, paper targets, shoot n c targets, ect.....

We had a great time, spent about 700 rounds and 3 hours. Thank you for the invite. I'm sure we'd have a great time!

Great! Good to see the younger ones out there. I can't wait until I can start taking mine. My 7 year isn't ready for it yet. His mind wanders to quickly. I can tell him something over and over, then 30 seconds later he is doing the opposite. I suspect my 2 year old will be the one that starts early, just not this early, lol.

Not sure if you've seen the Meet and Shoot thread, but we are all getting together in May at SgtBill's house for some good shooting and great conversation. He has a beautiful piece of land and it is a great time. Bring the kids there, they will see some great guns and have a chance to shoot them as well.

Will do, I am talking it over with my wife about taking the kids to Sgt.Bills for the shoot and greet. Our 20th anniversary is the 25th of May and we're trying to change some plans so we can attend. I don't want to commit and then have to change at the last moment, so we'll see. We are a "talking". :friends:
