Got my AMT firing pin back today...

If you got a good deal or great service from a shop or range and you want to brag about them, here's the place to do it. Likewise, if you are unhappy about someone's service or feel like you've been ripped off, we want to know that too!

Got my AMT firing pin back today...

Post by davasmith »

I have been trying for quite some time to find a gunsmith that would help me out with my AMT firing pin which broke at the range last year. I finally found a man named David Wood out of Texas who said he could do it. I sent the firing pin and bolt to him two weeks ago, and today I received it back. I reinstalled the bolt in my pistol and pulled a bullet from the casing, hand inserted the primed casing into the chamber and PRESTO! Gentlemen, I'm back in business. Couldn't be happier with his final product. In fact, he's making me a second firing pin for a back up just in case. He might be in Texas, but he's worth getting in touch with for any oddball fixes or hard to find parts. Just wanted to share my great news!

Hi davesmith,

Yes, I am new to this site but... what kind of AMT do you have? Out here there is a guy named Brian Maynard (in Portland, OR). If you know much about AMT's, you know who Brian Maynard is. He has my Automag right now and is giving it a complete tune-up. I plan to bring him some more business with a couple of my other AMTs. Yes, he is further away from you than Texas, but he [obviously] know's what he is doing when it comes to AMTs. His site is maynardarmsco (dot) net. I hope this helps in the future if you ever need anything else done to your AMT. "Knowledge is good".... And yes, congrats on being back in business.
